Show us yer film shots then!

hi, this is my first film post with a test roll of cheap Agfa 200 color with my Yashica Minister D..i cannot wait to use it again. alot more exciting than digital thats for sure!

These are good Daniel, I like the first one....

Some very good shots on the last page, The Hong Kong cable car shot (@skysh4rk) and the shot of the two dogs (@Threeracers) are my favourites.

I hadn't shot too much film before Christmas due to moving house (and, god forbid, spending money on other things). But I did go away to The Bahamas over Christmas and put a few rolls through my TLR. Here is the first of them, I managed to spend Boxing Day morning watching the sunrise on one of the beaches, so I took some Velvia with me ;)

Saturday dogwalk and amazing that they were still long enough for me to take the shot;

A beautiful shot mark of two beautiful spaniels, I know your EES looks like working strain,I hope he/she is,but your cocker has a long nose and I am slightly confused, let me know.

Anyway to the shot, I love it, would have like a little more OOF immediately past the tailings, but I guess you used a open aperture as the foreground is OOF as well. The focus is crisp on your EES eye, just great.

One question, who in your family or friends did you use for their attention. :).

Great shot.

Richard.

Thanks Richard. Both boys and both good working lines. The Spaniel, Bob, is 7 now and never quite made the grade for working so is more of a pet. He works well on the whistle and retrieves dummies and cold game but always got a bit too excited for the real deal. I have higher hopes for Storm who is 16 months old, fingers crossed!

The distraction was just another walking in the distance I think - I got lucky!

Personally I don't do masses, bit of a contrast tweak and some dust removal is about all I do normally.

Do you guys edit your photos at all? Or do you just leave them as they are straight out of camera?

basically whatever is required, I treat the scanned image as digital really. Although i have found that generally I need to do less with my film shots than straight digital.

Whatever the image needs is the simple answer.

Could be a bit of a sharpen (to help the scanning process along) and dust spotting and that's all...

...or could be hours of faffing! All depends on how close the image on the screen post scanning is to the image in my head when I pressed the shutter.

Colour stuff is left as I receive it from the lab. I do my own Black and White. My scans though full of detail tend to be flat. Photoshop for contrast, dodge, burn and some dusting off.

All with Nikon F80.

I'm quite happy with a lot off this roll. I'll drip 'em in over the next few days.

I might get to like this new fangled colour lark.

Gorgeous and i love the colour... the second one is my fav!... looking forward to seeing some more of them

Some 35mm images using my new scanner, the difference in acuity between a flatbed and dedicated 35mm scanner, even a cheap one, is amazing.

Early on in December I decided to experiment with pushing Portra 400 to see how it would fare. In these photos the film was pushed two stops (I'm still waiting to get back the photos for the roll that I pushed three stops). These pics were taken with my Minolta Autocord, which just recently had its focusing lever fixed by Miles Whitehead:

The colours are still fantastic and now I need to find some Vimto flavoured fudge!

Looks like it pushes incredibly well!

Yeah, I was surprised how well the colours turned out, especially in the first pic.

I didn't touch the Vimto flavoured fudge though...

Great results from that pushed Portra, RJ! Scanned by UK Film Labs?

Thanks! And yes, these were scanned by UK Film Lab.

@osh Fabulous. The foreground is really beautiful.

@skysh4rk a Great set. Your signature shallow depth of field is really put to good use with the Vimto candy.

@simon ess Really liking #2. Nice to see flowing water and not shaving foam.
