you can push the viewfinder almost all the way down. then it needs extra pressure to close. this is the place to experiment with the timing.
rx100 iv has a menu item to choose whether to turn the camera off when the viewfinder is closed. sony dont appear overkeen to provide this in a firmware update for the m3 version of the camera.
Well ! I did try this method and succeeded some times. unless practice makes perfect (and I doubt that) I cannot see it being a long time workable method. I'm not convinced it is beneficial to the camera as all you are doing is 'fooling' the electronics. I imagine if this was an 'accepted' method Sony would publicise it ?
