TalkPhotography Fantasy Football Leagues 22/23

I am going to extend the deadline to join the TP Fantasy Football leagues, main game and H2H, to the deadline of making changes for the 2nd gameweek, as the Friday game could catch out some people leaving it till Saturday to join, and being caught out by the Friday start.

Hopefully that will get us a couple more competitors. :)

Well that's it... No more messing with drafts for GW1. I really wanted Darwin, but have gone without. I'm even more desparate for him to have an amazing season.... Come on you reds

I was also tempted, but went with Jesus instead [1m cheaper and interested to see how does with a new, less chop & change team] , I did go for Diaz in MF though

So, game week 1, and the first leader of the league are Mrs Smith's Boys with 92 points, a 7 point lead ahead of Amber Army. A further 2 points behind are Klopp Klopp Boom.

The average point score for the week was 57.

Game week 1, and with no draws we have 6 winners, and 6 losers from the 6 Head 2 Head clashes. Because the positions are determined by total game points when the points are equal, the positions are similar to the main league. So Mrs Smith's Boys are atop the league after winning their H2H with RED BULLS HIT 92-64. Amber Army are in 2nd after beating Tarric's Tot's 85-75. Klopp Klopp Boom beat Second Half Pints. 83-65.

Week 2, and we have 1st v 3rd in the H2H fixtures. I take on 2nd placed Amber Army. ;)

I made one free transfer and banked some change, got 1.9m to spare for next week now, which will help as prices are already on the rise. I have my first no show today, Bailey, who played 90mins last week is a non starter. One of my 3 subs should at least play though

I'll not have much to change for next week either. But since I'll have 2 transfers I'll find a use for at least one rather than lose it. Perhaps start the move to 3 strikers that appeals to me (provided Nunez gets plenty of minutes) but it will take me 3 transfers across 2 weeks to transition to that.

I'm 'trying' to practice more restraint this season :D I think this time last year I'd already used my triple captain and it was a flop! I'd also already made a few transfers. A more patient approach this time, at least for now!
 
And here it is! the first dead-lock in the H2H of the season, I'm tied with 'second half pints' at 53pts before last game. I got some bonus points coming for James, but they have Salah as captain, I also have him but not captain, they have Darwin besides and I got Robertson. I hope Salah has a stinker :ROFLMAO: and I need Robertson to perform

Yeah, unfortunate that! I'm looking at kicking Mount now, 2 games only 5pts for an 8m player isn't near good enough. It was between him and Diaz who I traded for Martinnelli and I chose wrong sadly, should have kept Diaz. I can hold out another round, or make 2 transfers now costing me 4pts to bring in a couple players who I believe will strangthen my team a fair bit. Will wait till last minute to decide. First dra of the H2H too, Nunez helped me not lose that one

Last week's leader, Mrs Smith's Boys, drop to 3rd, Amber Army, had another good week with 70 points, and stay in 2nd place, 11 points behind the leader.

The average points score for the week was the same as last week, 57.

My points score was below the average with 50 points, which compared to last week's 64, makes me equal to the average of 57. Surprising I move up a place to 10th.

The changes in the Head 2 Head League mirrors the standard league as Klopp Klopp Boom, after beating last week's leader, Mrs Smith's Boys 83-50 to go top. Mrs Smith's Boys drop to 5th. 2nd placed Amber Army stay in 2nd after winning their H2H with me, 70-50. :( :LOL:

The only other remaining unbeaten team are Banished to Riyadh, who beat Tarric's Tot's 59-44, and move up a place to 3rd

No worries, I would have lost if not for that red card on Darwin, so a bit of a 'phew!' result that one.

Anyone considering wildcard yet? I know it's early, but knowing you get free transfers during the WC, and also prices are already on the rise, it might not be the worst idea. I don't feel I need to do it just yet, I think just a couple transfer will strengthen my team for now but if the prices really start hiking ....

Not yet, no. With the world cup, as you say, acting as a free wildcard, and being the deadline for using the first real wild card, it makes sense to play it in weeks 6-8 or thereabouts. By then a better picture of the players to have will be known and there's enough games left to make use of it.

As it is this week, I have 2 free transfers but no changes to make... I'd hate just to lose a transfer though!
 
I made two changes to get Jesus in, because he's on fire atm, and that will cost -4 points. I could see his price start to rise, so I'll takes that hit.

Glad I had Diaz rather than Nunez as my 3rd Liverpool player. ;) :LOL:

Yeah you're right, I was listening to the podcast on the site and they were discussing the wild card early on, and it kinda makes some sense if you have a team with no-shows or just generally under-performing, before prices hike up more. But I think I'm fine for now, it might cost me 4pts this week to improve a little, or I can hold, or just use the 1 free to make a slight adjustment - got a couple of under performers but it is only week 2. Mount being one but I'm giving him another chance, Robertson is another - £7m for a Def with only 3pts from 2 games is a bit rich! Another being Kristensen for Leeds, 0pts from 180mins for £5m! Decisions ...
 
Week 3, and a 3rd leader of the league. :) Klopp Klopp Boom(45) drop a place to 2nd. Amber Army(65) move up a position to top spot. Mrs Smith's Boys(47) remain in 3rd.

Top scorer for the week was Medway United with 71 points. :clap:

The average point score for the week was 48.

I had another poor week with 40 points, mainly because of low points for Chelsea and Liverpool defenders. :rolleyes: And I drop from 10th > 13th. :headbang:


No Friday game this week, so the deadline for making changes is Sat 27th Aug @11:00.

Last week's leader of the Head 2 Head League, Klopp Klopp Boom, fall to 4th place after losing their H2H with Penfold's Dangermice 45-50.

Amber Army move up a place to top spot, after beating Mrs Smith's Boys 65-47, and maintain their maximum point haul so far. Despite the loss, Mrs Smith's Boys stay in 5th.

Banished to Riyadh also move up a position to 2nd, and also maintain their 100% record after beating Second Half Pints. 46-43.

In 3rd, also unbeaten, though 2 points behind the top 2 after last weeks draw, are New Oak Utd, who beat me 51-36.

With that loss I fall to 10th place. :(

I used my wildcard and I've chopped and changed the team about 6 times during the week, I think I had Diaz in there at least 4 of those times .... then decided against last minute so I could squeeze in DeBruyne :/

Reall crap week for me so far, my original team wouldn't have done any better though
 
Oh, and I also sold Haaland :ROFLMAO: so it would have been actually much better! Oh well, hopefully Kane does some magic

I had Haaland as my captain all week and then swapped him for Salah Saturday morning.:(
 
I had Haaland as Captain and pondered on having him and Kane up front and selling Jesus, but went a bit mad and sold Haaland for better budget. Since most have very similar forward lines I was trying some differential, that worked well ....
 
The top 3 remain the same, so Amber Army(90) top, Klopp Klopp Boom(62) 2nd, and Mr's Smith's Boys(63) in 3rd.
There is a new 4th place, as I jump from 13th :oops: :$ after getting 96 points. :oops: :$ And highest scorer of the week too. :banana:

Woody's wonders(73) move from 8th>5th.

There are midweek games this week, so the deadline for making changes is Tue 30th Aug @18:00.

In the Head2Head League, Amber Army remain top, and get a 3 point lead, as they become the only unbeaten team, after winning their H2H with Woody's wonders 90-73. Klopp Klopp Boom move up to 2nd, ahead of Banished to Riyadh on accumulated points, after beating horspath hounds 62-52.

Banished to Riyadh lost their H2H with Mrs Smith's Boys 60-63. Mrs Smith's Boys stay in 5th, and New Oak Utd drop to 4th after losing to Penfold's Dangermice 45-59.

A win for me against Tarric's Tot's 96-65, moves me from 10th>6th. Got to love early in the season when 3 points makes such a big difference. ;)

I had a very good week, (96), as my choice of Captain, Haaland(34), paid off big time ahead of Salah(3) and Jesus(1). :oops: :$ I have Diaz(14) too, but I would have made one of the others captain ahead of him anyway. 17 points from Alexander-Arnold was very nice too after his excellent goal and, eventually, clean sheet. ;) Transfering in Gross(11) for Ramsey paid off too. :)

If I had Gordon on the bench ahead of Edouard, (why would you though ;) ) I would have got 102 points for the auto sub of Zinchenko.

This could be a high point of the season for me, so I am enjoying it. ;) :LOL:
