I like my flower and detail shots but I don't know how common and necessary this sort of shooting is? It could well matter for wedding shooters for ring and flower shots and other professionals needing similar closer focusing? But is it a deal breaker?
I like close up filters as not only do they allow close up shooting they also allow the lens to be used for close ups without being at minimum focus distance where some lenses aren't so good but screwing these things on and off may not be very popular with people doing this for money and under time pressures, but that's not me and maybe not most of us here.
