The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Same sensor output as my XH2 but with nicer body!
I have a Fuji XF 50mm f2.0 arriving tomorrow so will mate the pair and venture forth depending on when the lens arrives.
Miserable rainy day today.

Reading the XT5 manual again this evening.
There are C1-C7 in the menus.
Need to work out a strategy to get to them quickly as there is no PASM dial with them on.

It's just gone 7pm and not X-T5 samples yet !!!!

I just got the batteries charged, ate dinner, and sort of got the set up, set up ;)

I`ll see if I can get anything up soon (y)

I just basically copied my H1 setting for the time being. If I add too much, I`ll only forget them lol

`tis a lovely little camera :)

Apologies for asking a question that's probably been posed before but almost two thousand pages is a lot to wade through!! :)

Given a choice between the X-T3 and the X-H1, which would you tend towards and why (price is almost the same)?

Head says X-T3 but heart says X-H1.

Used mainly for PR & portraiture with some sport possibly thrown in.

Also, has anyone used Canon lenses on an XT body using an adapter?

Many thanks!

H1, because I`m going to be selling mine :)

You can't go wrong with either one Mark, H1 is bigger and for medium sized hands H1 would win because of the grip. T3 because it is a bit smaller AF I found was quicker and just nicer to use. Sorry I can't be more help.

Yes my XT5 arrived today but the dippy DPD driver took it away as he didnt ring the bell.
It will be delivered tomorrow with the Fuji XF 50mm f2.0 that I ordered to go with it but from a different source..

However it has been tipping down with rain all day so I probably would only have sat indoors with it.
The output is the same as the XH2 so it is only about the handling and user interface changes.
I am 100% sure the camera will work better for me.

Reading the manual today allowed me to decide that using the Q button may be the fastest way to get at the C1-C7 banks as there is no PASM dial.

Tomorrow hopefully I will have two boxes from DPD driver.
I will go and sit in my porch for the appointed hour (without shotgun or machete) just in case he thinks he can get at my letterbox to put the card through the door saying there was nobody at home!

@Paulie-W Nice shutters! Light image.

Cat says.... "What another new toy! Where is mine?"

:headbang: That sucks...

Fortunately we have very nice neighbours, who took mine in :)
The shutter button will take some getting used to, coming from the H1. But so far, I`m liking it.

I'm using the Finger adapter and it works well. I used it with an xh1 and now with the xt4. It works with both, but to be honest it's more reliable on the xt4. Used various tamron lenses, including the 150-600 with good results. You do need to have the exact model on the compatibility list though - I tried it with a Sigma 180 early gen where the new gen was compatible and it worked (focussed) but was really unreliable, implying that it only used contrast detect and not the phase detect pixels. I would recommend if there's a specific lens you want to use, but now Fuji are covering the focal length ranges more comprehensively, I'd not look at it as a cheaper option for lenses available in native mount. But for some of the oddball lenses or specific glass that you might want to use, it's worth trying.

I'm not convinced that Fuji will make either a 300/2.8 or a 500/4!! :)

Not very exciting, I`m afraid ;)

Hopefully I'll be able to get out over the weekend, and get something a little more interesting ;)

@DemiLion

If its a feature based choice (head )then

X-H1 - built like a tank, DSLR style grip, IBIS

X-T3 - Retro charm, faster AF, lighter

To me (heart) one is a machine, the other an object you want to pick up and shoot with.
Oi, I'm on a sales pitch here;)

That's pushed me even more towards the X-H1. I'm not really fussed about the external retro stuff and if I were I would just pick up my X-T10 and use that!

Mine is gonna go up in the classifieds, if you`re interested. Minty mint ;) with L bracket and 4 batteries (2 unused), all Fuji.

I have a question about video on the XE-3. I've asked in the video forum but thought I should ask the Fuji specialists too.

Video automatically stops after 10, 15 or 30 mins depending on format.

Is this to prevent overheating? How long should I wait before starting again?

Thanks

Tracking on AFC is pretty cool. Trying to work out the face/eye detection (which I`ve never used before).

Anyway, one of my garden foxes, came for a snack ;)

"Excellent" wildlife style capture Paul, you've caught a really good expression.

Just seen it, bargain at that price with the L bracket and extra batteries.
