Please create a thread if you have had equipment lost or stolen then post a link in here to that thread with a list of the equipment and area.

I have done this for the latest thread, if anyone notices any old ones then please post in them giving a link to this thread so that the loser can update it. I am posting this thread in Equipment so that everyone can see it but will leave a permanent re-direct in the sales section.

Any discussion on the subject please post here.

This thread is to allow people to check for stolen equipment so there is little point in listing it if you do not have any serial numbers or other distinguishing marks etc.

Stolen from: Hanger Lane (London/Ealing) on the 25th November 2012.

Canon 400D (Serial: 1731118374)
Canon 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 (no serial either)
Canon 17-40mm f4L (Serial: 455879)
Canon 24-70mm f2.8L (Serial: 3523771)
Canon 50mm f1.4 (Serial: 69300478
Canon 70-200mm f4L IS (Serial: 260101)
Canon Speedlite 600EX RT (Serial: 0503123610)
Canon Speedlite 430EX (Serial: 694430)
Canon Speedlite 430EXII (Serial: b30797)
Canon BG E11 (Serial: 0801000648)
- 2x8GB SanDisk Extreme
- 1x4GB SanDisk Extreme
- 1 x Lowepro Fastpack 350
- 1 x Crumpler Pretty Boy XXL (Black Orange with 1 insert)
- 1 x Garyfong Collapsible (no domes)
- 1 x JJC Replacement Flash Battery Pack full with white Eneloops (Eneloops are colour coded with stripes in a set of 4)
- 1 x Carl Zeiss Cleaning Set
- 1 x original Canon LP E6 Battery

Oh, and also a Fuji X100 silver Black. The Serial yet to find because they torn all the boxes into a puzzle. The X100 has a tiny scratch on the rear bottom left, a black JJC lenshood which is screwed onto a 52mm !!! Hoya HD UV Filter and those two are screwed on a 52mm adapter (this is rather unusual because I only bought that to use my existing filters). They took the camera without the original battery but one of my 3rd party ones called "INOV8 Battery Pack for NP95". The display has a screenprotector with a tiny bubble on the centre right side. The usual x100 camera strap. Black non branded lenscap connected with a black cord to the lens hood (cord is so short that it just fits)

Drag one of your photos into here: http://www.stolencamerafinder.com/

When you've found the serial also log it on the above site. It gets added to the map http://www.stolencamerafinder.com/lostandfound.jsp

It won't find anything (as it's unlikely that whoever stole your camera has posted any photos up from it yet, but it will find you the serial of the camera you used to take the image.

Create a separate thread too for a bit more exposure.

I hope you manage to track down your gear.

I'm so sorry my friend. I hope you have insurance and they catch the low life that took it.

This is sad and shocking! Bad enough one shop, but both to be cleared out within days!!
Wish these guys all the best and hope they are up and running soon.

Castle Cameras

Sadly, during the early hours of Tuesday 18th November our Salisbury shop was victim of an organised raid in which a crew of thieves smashed their way into the shop and stole tens of thousands of pounds worth of cameras and lenses. This was obviously very distressing for us and has certainly set us back somewhat.

Unfortunately the same crew attacked our Bournemouth store during the night on Saturday 22nd November. Despite heavy security the thieves still managed to gain access to the store and once again stole tens of thousands of pounds worth of cameras and lenses.

These two raids have caused much distress and have had a significant impact on our normal day-to-day business. During the next few days please bear with us as we try to take stock, rebuild and get our business back on track.

The police and insurers are investigating but if you have any information about the raids or hear of camera kits being sold new, boxed and cheap in the local area please get in touch or contact the police.

Many Thanks, The team at Castle Cameras

I think I have read how to do this right?!

Not as long as it could have been!

The intruders were only in our office for 28 seconds. Our alarm is very loud and the monitoring service is very efficient and we have people very close by, so the intruders made a smart decision to get out fast. And that meant they didn't have time to take much.

Sorry to hear this Stewart ... not as bad as this one last year in the US though :)

Wow. The good news from my point of view is that we've been able to manage the situation and no customers will be affected by it. If we had been cleaned out, then on the one hand the insurance payout would provide us with lots of shiny new kit, which would be nice, but the impact on our customers would be disastrous.

https://www.talkphotography.co.uk/threads/stolen-nikon-d90-w-battery-grip-18-55mm-50mm.637057/

Hi all,

Had I know of this before, could have been useful. In any case, here it is.

In early October 2014, my photography equipment was stolen, after someone broke into the house - Oxford. Police was notified and got involved, but nothing was ever found.
This is a list of what was taken, photography-wise:
- Nikon D90 (body, kit) serial number 6379706
- 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 ED AF-S DX lens (kit) serial number 13009803
- 50mm f1.8D AF serial number 2648862

In addition to that, an early 2011 13" Macbook Pro serial number C02G60SSDRJK.

Have been keeping an eye out ever since, but not much luck. The body + lens kit insurance's had just run out earlier in the year, and I was lazy figuring out what would be a good one to get..

None of my kit but saw this post elsewhere earlier - I've met Paul at a AP magazine event and he's a nice guy :

Can this be circulated please for Paul Sanders
Somehow to camera dealers ?

Here is a full list of my kit that was stolen yesterday in the bag pictured below.

The thieves broke into my car at the NCP car park in Parker Street near the CameraWorld show yesterday. I left the car between 0800-0815 to check how close I was to the show as I had a lot to carry.

Please share this info

Hi everyone. Not my loss this time but I saw this on Facebook and it seems to be a particularly vile one so I thought I'd publicise it.

Honestly, what kind of b******d tips somebody out of his wheelchair and then steals his camera bag?
