No need to go all the way to the Nurburgring, just ask your local circuit if you can have a go during a test day lunch hour. (it does help if the client has paid for a full day of testing for two cars).

I'd be a tad wary doing it on a narrow country road, any tips for it? I'm guessing it would need to be an almost deserted stretch away from the police.

One that's rarely used with a layby would be best, so you're only blocking the road for the actual shot, not setting up etc

Basically, you need to find a stretch where you can setup the rig without it being in the way of anyone that comes along. You also need a stretch which has good visibility so if you are in the road someone can slow down and let you move out the way safely. Find a road like that and police will normally be miles away. If they do come along, just be honest with what you're doing, you'd have to be a muppet to get nicked for it!

That's quality mate. Really like the bike shots! Love the third one with the red framed bike.

It's amazing how much you improve with practice! These are excellent first shots tho!

That's good for a driveway shot! Did you use an ND filter? I find if I am rigging through the day I can't do it without my ND8 filter. Helps from blowing the sky. If you don't have one then take a stationary shot before you move the car with a reduced exposure. Then add the sky in when you edit the shot :)

HI mtxfiesta,

What have you used to attach yoyr pole/tripod to the suction glass holders?

I've read through this whole thread a few times I think its time to have a crack at this!

Thanks

Excellent thread!! Not as expensive as you'd think for the kit either as I have most of it in my studio!

Going to definitely have a play with this as soon as I get a chance! Thanks everyone for sharing the setups and equipment!

Alright guys nice thread. I wonder if people could help me. Im looking at making my own DIY rig and making a massive pole and the other bits shouldnt be an issue for me but they problem is actually finding some suction cups as have scanned the net and have not got a clue what is what if im totally honest.

I know the Magic arm and super clams are the other bits im going for and they dont seem expensive on ebay but trying to find the right suction cups is becoming a pain so any helps with links would be amazing. Thanks in advance
