What birds or bird have you seen today – communal thread, I hope!

Up early today so had a morning visit to Whitburn Nature Reserve, can't decide if this is a Chiffchaff or Willow Warbler.

Looking by the colour of the legs I would say Willow Warbler, possibly a youngster

this morning I fed the birds... and it was an immediate take over, as usual they don't much care if I am still there or not.
But the shutter speed was not really high enough. they are in a constant frenzy of motion.

Hobby, I got one of it hunting but the light was so poor, and shooting up into the sky. I had a stop of +ve exposure but was still not enough and then no further opportunities arose.
So will have to make do with a perched bird...

I think this Tern I photo'd today was jealous of the the attention the Hobby was getting so it tried the same pose. I don't think he realised he needed a Dragonfly to complete the look

doesnt hang around too much and take the birds out of my garden

She's gotta eat and most likely will only take 1 ( pigeon / magpie sized meal ) a day.

I've have a pair nesting not too far from me, and they make a kill maybe a couple of times a year in my garden,
it doesn't stop the other birds feeding "Just in case" though

Unfortunately noise from a 10 year old APS-C at 1100 ISO really affected IQ badly.
I had low speed continuous shooting on and the parents looked directly at the camera several times.

I would say a juvenile Willow Warbler going by the leg colour.

Lovely, but you've got me doubting mine now, nowhere near that much yellow.

I'm with gramps. From plumage it's not a wood warbler, and leg colour suggests juvenile willow warbler (as opposed to chiffchaff)
