I think you have both done a good job with that!
You have retained colour in the sky, got some shape into the pose without it looking forced, found a solution for what to do with his hands, with decent lighting and nice processing and the model has got that kind of noncholant cool fashiony look...
nice shots, lovely birds. Never even seen a siskin, let alone got a pic of one!
I can't get anything remotely close to this - can i ask what lens you used?
Been thinking about doing this for a while to get away from posed model shots
They are really good, and 4 and 5 are excellent shots - both really characterful and natural in their correct environment - I believe it is called 'congruence'.

Just wonder if the lighting is maybe too straight on. The only shadow is just sticking out slightly from the head on the right. If the light was at more of an angle then the reflection would...
Indulgence - choccies nicely lit, with nice blurred background and the vignette works.
Close - for me the DOF is right and the composition works, but the light is just a bit harsh. Looks like sunlight or flash. I find that the colours on flowers are better in overcast or wet conditions (water...
I zoomed all the way in to see the big picture and the detail, sharpness and colours are all fantastic.
Having zoomed right in so that the picture was bigger than my laptop screen I found that I preferred a tight crop with the bright colours and textures filling the frame, however that is...
