I don't usually post much here, I'm more of a reader but the amount of negativity made me want to say something ;)
Great photos, but then I hope you know that. It seems your comments on
flickr confirm that, it's amazing though how the same photos in two avenues can receive completely...
These were a birthday present I received last year. My pretty pretty shoes.
I wasn't really in the mood today and spent a while sighing and stacking tables trying to create a white foreground and background to make it easier to edit later. I gave up completely disheartened and not liking...
Ooh, pretty water, I really like the colours in this photo. Shame that little tree was in the front left though, it takes some of the attention away from the rock behind it.
At a first glance the note reflection confused me, it appeared to split into two cylinders at the end. I like the 'speed', the focus on these with the dragged out edges being sharp looks good.
Another in favour of the slight blur on the tip of the wings. It's surprising how sometimes not getting the shot you wanted isn't always a bad thing. :)
Here is my attempt at speed. Problems encountered:
1. My tripod does not support the weight of my flash so I had to steady it by hand. As a result many of the photos had blurry keys as well as hands.
2. Batteries died in my flash gun meaning I didn't get as many photos as i wanted.

I prefer the cropped one as a photo, I think it puts more focus on his teeth, I'm not sure why that is a good thing but I think it is :)
Although the un-cropped, as others have said, gives more context to the shot.
