Being a country boy I would look at the margin being the edge of something as suggested before but maybe the edge of a field the margin between cultivated and uncultivated land.

A very cheap upgrade would be to replace the kit lens with the IS version of the same lens, if you look at any of the reviews it is fairly well regarded and can be bought s/h for about £60
