Tim Parkin & Joe Cornish have just released a new subscription based online magazine (first issue is free). The magazine has video content, locaion guides and great articles. I have just watched the JC video about himself editing a photo in PS - very interesting indeed...
I disagree - having the sun higher this would have proved even more difficult to expose. i actually think he is five or ten minutes to early - once the sun dropped below the distant hills, then the horizon proper i suspect there would have been a lovely orange band of glaoming in the sky...

I use the flickr DNA & Explore Scout by Big Huge Labs so I can update my own "interesting" album on flickr, i have only had a few photos in explore - I then go onto the big huge labs today and this appears:

how do you feel these photographs deliver something more than an ordinary sunset?
i think the first one is the most successful photograph compared to the rest (the rest i feel have either compositional or technical problems)

very creative well seen photograph, i like it alot. i do think it looks much better and more concise (for want of a better word) if you crop to 4x5 getting rid of some of the sky above the rays
