    The Official Fuji X10/X20/X30/XF1/XQ1 Thread

I can't say I use "Pro Low Light" in the X10's advanced mode often, but over the years, it's got me out of trouble in tricky light conditions. On page 126 of this thread, I posted my first attempts at using this mode, and I think that earlier, Duncan had offered guidance as well; that would be...

Duncan, I've seen similar on the sea shore when a certain type of seaweed dries out. I expect a sort of QI response though! Pete

No, of course I don't mind! It makes one heck of a difference, doesn't it? Thank you very much. I'll sort the colour temp. - it's worth it! Pete

Thanks for your kind comments, Damian. Yes, although the rigging is part of "Victory", it's not obvious and can only be distracting. As a snapshot, I didn't feel that it was worth the effort of further attention. Perhaps it is. Pete

Well, that's very kind of you David, but it's really just the luck of being in the right place at the right time, isn't it? Actually, I forgot to take some of the 'blue' out of those photos - forgot to adjust the colour temp. in my hurry to be topical! Pete

I had a great view of the Red Arrows yesterday, and it was good to have the X10 with me. I was treated to the trip, and didn't know what all the fuss could be about, especially since veterans had been spotted leaving the dock, and Princess Anne was in evidence; then someone mentioned D-Day...

Many thanks Rhodese I too was lucky to escape without being whitewashed - not a spot! Five minutes later, and shooting downstream from the same spot, these (very inquisitive) cattle seemed unfazed. For reasons I'd better not go into, last year the brown steer on the right got my lovely light...

On the old X10 thread, I discovered that one or two, including "Ed Sutton" (Dave) were anglers like me, and seemed to appreciate anything with a river or lake in it. For those of us who look forward to our winter fishing on the Somerset Levels, you can imagine that it's been a pretty lean time...

Dear "Brianwar", I shouldn't worry about a listed nominal voltage of 3.7. I've just checked the standard Fuji NP-50 that came with the X10, and although it has been charged but unused for weeks, it shows 4.13! I bought a pair of aftermarket batteries from this source last December...

Nod, many thanks for your comment - I was getting to feel distinctly lonely! Whilst accepting all that you say, despite the stretched verticals and wall returns high up looking wrong, the overall effect seems to me closer to what I perceived (not necessarily saw!) on the day. I suppose...

    The Official Fuji X10/X20/X30/XF1/XQ1 Thread

Like an inappropriate remark made to revive a conversation that has gone embarrassingly quiet, I feel forced to make this 'dodgy' contribution to the thread: you see the X10 being best toy I've had in years, I spend more time just playing with it than 'seriously' taking photos. Frankly, most of...

    The Official Fuji X10/X20/X30/XF1/XQ1 Thread

This was originally intended for posting back in June as the last of a set of four sunset shots; I decided my linking 'commentary' was perhaps too sentimental for a public forum, and have prevaricated. Despite the intrusion of modern times in the form of contrails and cars, service cables and...

Terry's latest photos might have been overlooked in the excitement over the changes, and I'd like to record how nicely the X10 seems to represent the various subtleties of green vegetation - light and very varied in spring, becoming heavier in late summer. I especially liked his 'Green Man' (if...

And there's me thinking it was just rough timber marking the safe passage into the harbour - quite common along this coast. Obviously it is the remains of one of the U-boats, that, towards the end of the war, encountered a mine laid in the Bristol Channel, and has taken seventy years and a...
