Actually, if you compare using the 40D which has a much more similar pixel density to the D3x the nikon is on, the comparison is very close, each a bit stronger at various focal lengths and weaker at others. I'm not sure why you're so insistent on bringing the conversation back to nikons...

It's irrelevant anyway as raw is not an acronym, if anything it's more of a title as it's literally just raw data. so it's technically incorrect to capitalize the whole word ;) The acronyms like .JPEG are found in the actual format like .CR2 or .NEF . . . . . . Well it was aimed at pedants :D

This style of HDR doesn't often appeal to me to be honest, but I like the composition and details and in this instance the "grungy" HDR effect does bring out the drama in the sky very nicely to get a good bleak look. I agree it would be more suited to black and white, to my eyes the colours...

On digital my 100-400L and sigma 150mm macro have both been superb, but the lens I've enjoyed shooting with the most is the Pentax 50mm f/1.7 on a Pentax MX because of it's great compact size combination and smooth dampened MF.

I very much like my 100-400mm as I chose it over the 150-500 after comparing them myself, but since then the price of the sigma has dropped and the price of the canon has gone back up to a point where I would say the canon isn't worth the difference, even though I found it sharper.

I would echo the advice to definitely go for more than 4GB. Single games can take up more than that nowadays, Battlefield 3 with assorted DLC's is currently taking up a whopping 14GB of my 60GB HDD. Granted that is massively bigger than any of the other games, but it's a good example of why 4GB...
