    Nearly to late

I agree a good shutter speed choice there for a rushed shot, damn shame you clipped the front of the nose! It would be perfect otherwise. -Xclam

    Advice on car show togging!

Fantastic technique! I use it all the time. Best advice I can give really for a car show is to make sure you do have a variety of lenses ranging from 10mm (if you need to get close preferably 1.4-2.8) and like DreederUK suggested a 70-200 2.8. A flash gun is a must especially. Also I say...

    I accidently took this

Personally I like the way the bush partly covers the sign and the left corner of the shot, it is almost like a natural vignette. -Xclam

    traffic trails

I agree this is definately a good shot, you have a very crisp clear in focus forground and retained the motion from the vehicles, I would agree with antiohero though that it would be better from a different angle. -Xclam

    Trials Bikes

All in all the shots are quite good :) , but I would reccomend next time trying to shoot with a slightly higher depth of field perhaps around F8 and also at a slower shutter speed (around 200-320 of a second) so that you have more motion in the bikes tyres. -Xclam

What Prime Lens for Motor sport

Well I suppose if you dont mind braking your back or parting with your house you could look at the Sigma 300-800MM -Xclam

    If you had £3000-£3500

Personally I would buy Nikon, first I would wait for the D300 which will be around £1300 then I would buy the grip for around £200, spare batteries £80, 2x San Disk Extreme 3 2GB cards £45, Nikon SB-800 Flash Gun £250, Nikon 2.8 70-200VR £1090, Nikon 18-200VR (general use) £400. Tots up to...

    Canon 24-70 2.8 or 24-105 F4

Personally as a user of both the L Series 2.8 70-200 and L Series 2.8 24-70 I would opt for the 24-70, this is not because I have one but purely for the reason that it fills the range the 70-200 is not cabable of. Ie I found that if the 70-200 is providing me with little le-way then the 24-70 is...

Moto X Trials at Armthorpe (Doncaster)

Heres a few shots from a day at work at Armthorpe in Doncaster (yorkshire), took well in excess of 500 shots so picked these few out. Not sure which one is my favorite... Shots were taken using a Canon EOS1D Mark 2N with Canon L series 70-200 lens, Manual mode F8, 200 of a second, ISO400...

New to SLR photography comments and critism welcome!

Personally I like the 3rd shot best it is a nice picture with what I would consider a substancial enough depth of field, I am also amazed by the quality of the images for such an affordable camera. -Xclam

    Hello from Lincolnshire

Indeed I know very few people in my situation, I was and have always been a Nikon loyalist but when I got the job as a sports photographer I went and got the 1D as I felt that the Nikon counterpart was not as good value for money or performance as the 1D... however I am considering the change to...
