No
Just thought about this. If things go on for months would you trust your Mrs with a pair of clippers on your head? Will there be a shortage on Amazon? Singletons, are you happy with a potential full on Jesus look?

My missus always cuts my barnet, 2mm comb on the clippers.
Only time it went a bit wrong was when she forgot to stick the plastic comb bit on
Ended up a bit short that time, soon grew or at least as much as it does these days

Headbanging days are long gone, no vanity left either.

My wife is an ex hairdresser but I clipper my own hair anyway, No.4 on the back and sides, then trim the top up with scissors, so i shall just carry on as normal.

I'll go grade 2 all over I think (used to have that all the time anyway), I hate having 'long' hair (bring military) and my hair is quite thick as well.

Go back to my late teens long hair and a beard.

I bought a set of Wahl clippers, silly cheap price. Used them today for the first time both on my hair and beard, very happy with my first attempt. Practice won't make me perfect, but I'm old, past vanity and just want to look tidy and they're perfect for that.

000000 clippers here - or shave it completely smooth with a DE razor - exactly like I have at least twice per week for the last 20+ years

Not too much of a Barnet to worry about........I got a "1" cut rather than my usual "2" cut a couple of weeks back, so about 6 weeks before I look too unkempt

If it comes to it will have to resort to using my trimmer, that has served me well for keeping my beard in trim, on the rest my head.......with SWMBO doing it :police: :cautious:

I bought some Wahl clippers when I was going through a shaved phase. Do they also work on something last drastic?

I will no doubt look pretty scruffy in a few months. But at 85 it is not the look but the discomfort that will get to me.

People are already scalping them (see what I did there?) on Amazon and ebay. Someone wants £60 for the Braun clippers I bought for £30, and there's a complicated looking Philips thing that was under £50 going for £80. I have absolutely no idea how to use them, by the way. Is there a talkbarbering forum somewhere? There must be a Youtube video - there's one for everything else.

Already faced up to no haircut for weeks, so bought a set from JL, should be here next week, just need to decide how short. My Mrs will do it, I hope, she's good at all that manual dexterity stuff. 20 years ago I was out in Oz and after a couple of drinks at a BBQ my mate shaved my hair off, looked like a criminal, when it grew back it was jet black, mouse coloured before, don't think it will come back black this time.

AH! this is something I have been pondering last few days. I popped over to my local Barber's other day, and as expected, shut down :( so I began to consider alternatives - get a decent e-razor ... let my missus go to town! but I'm a bit of a ponce when it comes to my hair, I get grade 3 all around the back and sides normally, but scissors cut up top - There's the main problem. Should I let her go ham at it and end up potentially with a jig-saw puzzle head?

Yes, this is the one I bought https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WAHL-Com...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 and you will see that it has a total of 10 cutting combs. Right now, the price is showing at £49.95 with 82 sold in the last 24 hours.

I anticipated the demand and bought mine a week ago, for £17.45. TBH they do seem to be both well designed and well made, and although it's always annoying when sellers take advantage and hike prices dramatically, they still seem to be pretty good value.

Same as a few above. We have some Wahl clippers that must be 20 years+ old which Mrs Tringa uses on what is left of my hair.

Same here but around once a week. For about the same amount of time too.

Just let her do the sides ;) My boy has longish dyed black hair with the whole sides and back shaved, it does really suit him actually. I shave that for him every other weekend when I have them. I think when it grows around the back and around the ears is when it starts to look untidy in that sort of style.

The missus does mine with Wahl clippers every couple of weeks, no guard so guessing that's a 0 then.

She likes to keep her short so she might resort to using them on herself albeit with a guard on, probably the biggest one.

#1 all over the head, just like I've had it for about 20 years. Could do it myself but tend to catch the clipper attachment in a nostril so let Mrs Nod do it for me!

How can you catch a nostril shaving your head?

I bought a similar looking Wahl set over 4 years ago and it's exclusively been the way I cut my hair ever since, I've not had negative comments though doesn't mean people aren't thinking them!

The smallest device looks a bit dodgy, one slip and it could go right up your bum hole.

I'm going for the Bob Marley look. Might take a while, but then we may have a while.
My last cut was a number 4 on the sides, and a bit longer on top. Sadly the attempt at a beard is an almost pure white goatie.
Hmm, maybe the Mr Marley look is a step too far for me..

I cut my husbands yesterday with Wahl clippers and scissors. He was surprisingly nervous  Let's face it, we've got weeks for it to grow out.

He's now said he wants it even shorter. I'm not a hairdresser but I used to cut my sons years ago.

I don't know whether I'll trust him to do mine which is long

I bought a set of Wahl clippers many years ago (when the barber put his price up to a fiver). They're as good now as they were when I bought them - the secret is to oil them before every cut.

As a point of note; I tried a cordless set (Wahl again) and they only just outlasted the guarantee so I went back to my corded ones - far superior and much faster. (y)

Haven’t had a hair cut in about 16 years.. sure I’ll survive a few more if it doesn’t all fall out first.

Dont know about you, but I don't shave my face with my hair clippers....:)

Haven't shaved for 20 or so years, just clipped short. Quicker and easier to use the professional tool than the "beard trimmer" with its crappy pressed steel blades.

I saw a poster in a barbers window many years ago
"Home hair-cuts repaired without comment"

I can see a few of these re-appearing at some point :D
