Politics, I would say. They want at least one feature left, which makes you longing for the 5D Mark IV.And the 7d2, don't know why it's not been added, can't be much of a problem to do it. Thanks Bob!

I'd choose the sigma. Better quality for the priceIs anyone using either the Canon 35mm F1.4L or Sigma 35mm F1.4 Art on their 5dmk3? I am interested to know your thoughts of how they compare and which one you would look at if you had to choose now.
I have 5d mkiii and I am more than satisfied with its performance, my only gripe is that decent lenses cost serious money. I just bought a Tamron 70-300mm f4-5.6 SP Di VC USD Lens.
At the moment no one knows for sure which currently available L series lenses give the best quality and performance on the new Canon 5DS and 5D SR. only testing will tell.
So until people know stick with what you have got until we know for sure.
5Ds or 5Dr are mainly for studio use and if you have to produce very large prints. For that purpose these cameras will produce better results with every lens attached.
I will not downgrade from 5DIII to 5Ds/r
Yes... Boosting their profits and convincing us we need the next best thing. Love my 5D3!Well having a 1.3 & 1.6 crop and similar AF systems to 5D3 etc suggests Canon see other uses for the camera also.

Don't forget that the new models are 'iso-inferior' when compared to the 5D3 although maybe not an issue for your usage.Well i'm interested in buying one if I decide to sell my 7D MkII. Can't really see the point of buying another 5D3 when this is available now.

Excellent little lens and top value for money....you won't be disappointed with it..........but new lenses have come out since then such as 16-35 f4 L etc.......
Seconded, it is a brilliant lens. I'm with a 5Dii at the moment but considering going up to a 5Diii. I even looked at a 5DS, but I'm not sure for the cost that it would be worthwhile for me.Excellent little lens and top value for money....you won't be disappointed with it.

How long? I guess it will not be available this year, maybe in the middle of 2016.Wait for the 5d4
My money is on full specs being published July 2016 and first UK customer deliveries October 2016.How long? I guess it will not be available this year, maybe in the middle of 2016.
next year imoHow long? I guess it will not be available this year, maybe in the middle of 2016.
I wouldn't change my 5DIII to a 5DsR for free. In my opinion that 50 MP are simply pointless.
Regarding the 1DX the 5DIII is the second best DSLR Canon has currently to offer.
Wait for the 5d4

Yea id wait till then. Or get a Sony a7r2 and call it a dayI didnt even know it was in the pipe line!
That was sort of my thought on the 50mp. I thought it was just me!!! I went from 7Di to 5Dii and the difference was well worth it. Almost as soon as I had the ii I was wishing I'd gone the whole hog and gone for the 5Diii. I'd be interested to see what the 5D4 spec would be, but I'm guessing I will have sold my 7D and got a iii by then. I can keep the ii and iii then as I like to minimise changing lenses
Apart from replacing the lush lens collection I've built up over the years, and replace the second body at the same time.Yea id wait till then. Or get a Sony a7r2 and call it a day
You can use your existing lenses on the a7r2 and It looks like it can now af as fast as Sony native lenses.Apart from replacing the lush lens collection I've built up over the years, and replace the second body at the same time.
Keeping my fingers crossed the 5D4 is going to be something special.
seeing no one has answered this i'll have a stab at it. Is one not in silent mode.Anyone have any clue why the shutter noise from one 5D body to another would be completely different?
One giving a very tinny sound, the other a very clunky mechanical sound - same firmware, both new, same settings??

Matt, you are shifting a lot more mass on a ff compared with a crop...1Dx at 12 fps sounds like a machine gun!!:rage:I'm with you on that one. I was surprised just how loud the 5D3 is compared to my 70D.
