Anyone got any good suggestions for Shooting Bank and Menu Bank set ups?
Anyone got any good suggestions for Shooting Bank and Menu Bank set ups?
I have mine set to PLAY, STUDIO, ON CAMERA TTL and CLS.
What settings do you program in on each of those Darren ?
<snip>
but I know I'd never trust it and would have to make sure everything's in place before I shoot anyway, so I doubt it would be much use to me apart from maybe studio settings.

Actually, with me, it's a case of not trusting myself! When I started using these banks, I found that I constantly went back to check if I was on the right one, and after that making sure that I did all the other adjustments over and over.
In the end, I just gave-up on the idea, and make sure that I set my camera the night before I go out on a shoot, and once on location I do all the necessary individual adjustments one by one.
I guess it's all a matter of mind-set, I am just not too trusty with what I may, may not, have done.
Why spend so much on a great camera then put something unbranded on the bottom of it ?
Anyone know any good guides for the D700 (quick shooting setups etc) as moving from a very basic Canon 1000D to the D700 is rather daunting.
Bugger. Should have bought another during the free grip offer !!
Bugger, bugger, bugger.
Did I mention BUGGER !
Extreme III for me, gives a good enough performance at a very good price.
Right folks, I may have lost my mind but I pick up the D700 and 50mm tomorrow from jessops, with a 100mm VR micro from mpb and a 70-200mm from here to follow.
Whats the manual like, is it quite good or should I get a field guide to go with it?
Might need to buy some white paint for the 70-200mm though!

The manual is like all Nikon manuals.
Well I guess I should join in with this, just picked up a D700 from the classifieds and even without a lens to put on the front of it I'm still mega impressed.
One thing though - my god how many buttons and menus do Nikon need lol. The Canon 5D is a simple beast by comparison.
