Nice shots, i like the first one but for me i would do a small crop from right and bottom to get the subject more to the 1/3 of photo, it puts more emphasise on the subject :)
I personally use Adobe Bridge, i find it very useful and it has features like marking photos which helps when you come from a shoot with a lot of photos!
Im sure by avoiding shadows its meant to avoid harsh shadows, you do need shadows but soft ones just to give the image depth. Good way to get soft shadows certainly is using soft boxes or umbrellas because direct light will cause hard shadows. The bigger the light source the softer the shadows...

You really have to watch the exposure, for instance number 3 is really underexposed because you have exposed for the sky and not the model.
