To offer you a slightly more constructive critique, the picture is too busy as it stands - you have to hunt around the image to understand what you have captured. Shot#2 would be improved by simply cropping out the passer-by on the left and cropping out the floor heater on the right. Perhaps...

#1 is spoilt only because the catchlight is directly in her pupil rather than her iris - some PP work could rescue an otherwise well-lit shot.

I run an Epson 9800 and use the SpyderStudio3 SR for calibration.
The following video is an overview of the screen calibration. I'll do one soon for print calibration.
I'm not particularly a brand loyalist but I am familiar with the Epson systems. I'm sure the Canon printers are just as good...

I've been asked to produce some actress headshots for this lady, which will ultimately be 10x8 B/W prints. I'm just canvasing opinions on the toning. I prefer to have a lot of contrast on monotone images. I've not applied any skin smoothing or other PP at this stage...
