I have just bought a Sony A58 20mp to use as a lightweight travel camera. I have only taken a few trial shots with it and when I opened them in Photosho and
checked image size, I noticed the resolution was 350 pixels/inch which seems extremely high, given the resolution for commercial printing...
It's Loch Chon and it's a bugger to get parked as the road is really narrow at this spot. Last time I was there a local guy told me the landowner was getting pretty hacked off with photographers going onto his land and the jetty so be warned! Nice shot by the way.
This section of the pass always presents me with the same problem you seem to have encountered Peter. You are surrounded by stunning scenery but where to point the camera is never obvious if you know what I mean. Further down you have Loch Achray etc but a couple of miles up, it's all masses of...
Thanks for the comments guys. You know how it is when you get new gear...you just have to try it despite the conditions! The sea was actually quite choppy and I was hoping for a mistier effect but the lighting was too flat so I'll wait for better conditions and try again.
I rather like the composition although there is a halo around on the mid horizon that is a bit obvious. I would actually burn a little of the foreground in to emphasise the highlights in the grasses, but that's just my opinion!
