Help required with Sony A58 file size

I have just bought a Sony A58 20mp to use as a lightweight travel camera. I have only taken a few trial shots with it and when I opened them in Photosho and checked image size, I noticed the resolution was 350 pixels/inch which seems extremely high, given the resolution for commercial printing...

    Boat and the jetty

It's Loch Chon and it's a bugger to get parked as the road is really narrow at this spot. Last time I was there a local guy told me the landowner was getting pretty hacked off with photographers going onto his land and the jetty so be warned! Nice shot by the way.

    Dukes Pass, Aberfoyle, Trossachs

This section of the pass always presents me with the same problem you seem to have encountered Peter. You are surrounded by stunning scenery but where to point the camera is never obvious if you know what I mean. Further down you have Loch Achray etc but a couple of miles up, it's all masses of...

    The boat house

I like the viewpoint you have chosen as it's not the usual one most people opt for including myself!

    Blackness Castle West Lothian

Thanks for the comments guys. You know how it is when you get new gear...you just have to try it despite the conditions! The sea was actually quite choppy and I was hoping for a mistier effect but the lighting was too flat so I'll wait for better conditions and try again.

Critique Bench at Chew Valley Lake - Editing advice?

I rather like the composition although there is a halo around on the mid horizon that is a bit obvious. I would actually burn a little of the foreground in to emphasise the highlights in the grasses, but that's just my opinion!

River Yare from Strumpshaw Fen RSPB.

Beautiful shot. Just captures the tranquillity of the area perfectly.

    Rough seas at sunset

Fantastic colour in both of them but the first one would be my choice. A slight crop on the sky perhaps but that's just my taste. Nicely captured.

Waswater - Stormy, dark and wet last week.

Cracking set. Love the third one.

    The Kelpies

So would I Hopeful but I can only get access when the site is open during the day so quite restricted for timing and this is the best VP!

    Still Life Old Masters Style

An experiment to see if I could get anywhere close to replicating the style of the old masters still lifes. All comments welcome!
