The GAS confessional - all who suffer are welcome. :)

is that the reverse grad? I think @hunnymonster seems to have most bases covered. Do you have a filter case @hunnymonster ? I need to sell one of those that I bought on here and have never used :ROFLMAO:

I think, with the price of the grads, @hunnymonster should have your soft case in a peli case for proper protection.

If you two were in to any sort of "random acts of kindness to strangers on a photo forum" you'd just send them :ROFLMAO:

Reality is that I'm good for now - I need to be not-at-work when the sun is above the horizon... Another 7-day work week (sigh)

Hmmm. Not totally sure what happened. But I’ve added an Olympus EM1 mk3, 17mm f1.2 and 12-40 f2.8..

..and a used compact with 24mpix sensor and 28mm f1.7 lens. Begins will L

Nice  :)(y) I,m still undecided what to do with my Olympus system:( I was looking at a new OMD-EM1 MKII just before Black Friday at a great price I really love the size and weight or lack of.
Enjoy your new exotica

I have a foot in both Canon and Olympus camps and there is an awful lot to love with Olympus IMO. They have so much functionality as well as being light. I've really been enjoying the in-camera focus stacking for fungi this year. (I obviously need to socialise more :ROFLMAO: )

Heavens - no confessions for 4 days. Usually there are a few who accidentally by themselves a Christmas present... come on now, get typing!

GAS has afflicted me throughout my photographic career. A decade ago I had a major clear-out, and I let most of my systems go -- LF, MF, 35mm. I kept an EOS 5D MK II I had just purchased, plus the "essential" EOS lenses for it. For 9 years now, GAS has not bothered me (though in truth, I've done far too little photography -- been too busy with work).

Now I've gone part-time, and have time for this wonderful hobby again. In the past 3 months, I've bought an X-T2, and two extra lenses for my EOS 5Dii. Lot's of accessories (to aid with video work, mostly) keep arriving from Wex and Amazon. I think I can safely say that I have GAS again. Fortunately, it does no-one else any harm...

Oh I just received a Nikon Z 24-70 f4
Happy as..

After my recent purchase of a new Fuji compact, I thought I would not be looking at camera gear for at least another year or two. Can't believe I am yet again looking at cameras and lenses.

More gas pressure relief...I grabbed a 2nd-hand XF 10-24mm (original version) from Wex. The price of these have come down a long way. Fine lens, based on my initial tests.

I've been thinking of changing from X-E3 to the new X-E4 but having seen the specs. I'm going to pass.
That means if Nikon ever release any more Z lenses I might be able to afford one.

I spotted that also, total bargain!!

WEX have it for 24months 0% interest - zero deposit and £229 a month - wOw

mac

I missed that 24 month interest-free option. Now I have a real problem! I think I am safe, since I can't decide between the 32-65mm or the 45-100mm as my only lens. There are times when procrastination is my best friend :)

Just noticed that Clifton Camera are offering 3 yr interest-free--and Fujifilm are running a trade-in bonus of £450 too. I'm going to have to make a decision on that lens now...

Been there done that, 60mm macro for my Olympus should arrive today :( :)

Very nice. :)

Just recently bought the Fuji XF10, nice and compact but at f/2.8 not the best for indoors. I would have preferred f/1.8 but just have to turn the ISO up a bit.

Hi, got a new 50mm lens for my Leicas today :

This is my 31st M mount lens, and my 5th M mount 50. One should always try to have a balanced portfolio. My other 50s ... :

(Of course, some might say, this is the poor man's Apo-Summicron ... --- )

What are your initial thoughts on the XF10?

I have the X-T20 currently but thinking about getting an XF10 to compliment it, the majority of my photos are taken at or around 18mm so I'm thinking it may be an ideal pocket camera for days out...

I'm suffering at the moment, I can't decide between buying a 500mm f4 to go with my nikon d810 /d7100 for wildlife or compmetly changing to olympus em1x and 300f4....... I definitely need help

HAve you tried the Oly sett up? I don't know when the Test and Wow scheme will start again [it might already have started again] but that might salve your gas and enable you to walk away [or not]. I did a Canon 50mm f1.2 test, convinced it was what I needed for my project and found that I didn't need it after all. :)

I emailed omd digital solutions and they said due to the currant covid thingamagig it's not on at the min. Iv got a buy link for the 500mm and now a em1x has come up for sale

I have a friend who switched to Olympus - he had big glass - 500 , 600 L primes - and is considering a second. I think he kept a Canon body for his 400 D0ii - but he really likes it. I have an Oly system but have continued with my FF Canon for other reasons. It's all the more tricky at the moment when you can't handle the cameras.

Only 3?

It is OK, it has it's faults. I have posted my thoughts on it and some photos, in the thread below. They are the last few posts on the thread.
