    Fuji x100

The ladybird shutter release is the 'bug' from this company http://www.matchtechnical.com/Pages/Beep.aspx There are quite a few different designs - I have the red ladybird on my X100 and it looks / operates fantastic. The quality is top notch.

What New Gear Have You Purchased This Week?

A WCL-X100 wide angle conversion lens for my Fuji x100 that I have fallen in love with all over again....after 6 months apart.

    Fuji XF1 Inteligent Digital Zoom

I've just purchased a Fuji XF1 and I'm getting to grips with all the features. One feature that is confusing me is the 'intelligent digital zoom'. As far as I can tell if I enable this feature then the lens zoom range changes by x2 so becomes 50-200mm. Is this correct? Its probably the...

    Viewfinders and glasses (spectacles)

I've had to start wearing glasses and have found that using the viewfinder on my recently purchased (prior to glasses) isn't a very good experience. The same is true for my beloved Fuji X100. My glasses simply get in the way and I can't get my eye close enough to the viewfinder to see 100% of...

    Fuji x100

I had the same problem - I lost my bug soft shutter release within days. I bought another and this time I used a drop of Loctite Threadlocker and it is still there 12 months later. You can buy it from model shops and Halfords stock it too I believe.

    D5200 - Lens

I recently purchased a D5200 with the 18-55mm kit lens and the Nikon 35mm f/1.8. I have just got back from a holiday in Madrid and I can't fault the quality of the pictures I took using this combo. The kit lens was used most and the pictures are sharp and contrasty when viewed on a 27'' iMac...

Nikon D5200 - which travel zoom?

I've recently purchased a Nikon D5200 and 18-55 kit lens. I've been looking at getting a 'travel zoom' for everyday use and the Nikon 18-200mm DX lens has caught my attention. Is this a good match for the D5200 or are there any better alternatives in the same zoom range? Cheers!

    What bag for mountain biking?

I've recently taken up mountain biking and I really want to take my Nikon D5200 / 18-55mm lens with me to capture a few moments with my friends. I've been using a Lowepro Photo Hatchback which is a great bag but in the time it takes me to get my camera out my friends have lost interest and the...

Fuji X100s - an unusual question

I've been using a Fuji X100 for over 18 months, mainly as a travel camera. I made the mistake of checking out the X100s in Jessops and was wowed by the quality of the new EVF and the faster AF. Now I am thinking of trading up but I have a question that those with the X100s may be able to...

    Nikon 1 Series (V1/ V2/ J1 etc) owners thread....

Yes, I've had a V2 since last December. I had the V1 before that. I enjoyed using the V1 but found myself getting more and more frustrated by the loose mode dial. The V2 is a vast improvement ergonomically though in other aspects they are the same in my opinion. The only minor annoyance I...

    Nikon or Fuji

I totally agree with this. I've owned the X100 for over a year and the V1 for 6 months. The X100 is a beautiful thing to own and will produce stunning jpegs straight from the camera and is fantastic for low light photography. I find the autofocus adequate with the latest firmware update but...

    Nikon J1

My wife was in the same boat - she has been through countless P&S cameras but never found one that gave her consistently 'punchy' pictures. She saw the red Nikon 1 J1 and bought it (probably for the colour!) and it has turned out to be quite a find. I use a Fuji X100 and after a recent trip to...

need smallish bag for days out what should I get

I just checked out The Kata Access 17-PL and 18-PL yesterday and ended up buying the PL-18. My gear is 7D with 70-200mm f2.8 attached and a Sigma 17-50mm f2.8. This fitted OK into the 17-PL but it was a little bit of a squeeze to get the Sigma into a side pocket because of the diameter of the...

Lens hoods - do I really need to use them?

Quite frankly - don't bother. It sounds like you are quite jaded. If you hang around the basics part of the forum then be prepared to answer basic questions and don't scare people off. On the internet we can be whoever we want -5000+ posts and a list of professional cameras in a profile is...
