AGFA VISTA 400 @ Poundland

2x roles going in to dev @ jessops tommoro yeah i know the results will be like some student has devved em in his underpants using bolloxol but it will give me an idea.

Get the 200 and push to 400, problem solved ;)

Not checked my local ones as I still have 5 rolls from last year which will probably last me until 2017...

Hey Suz pay attention (throws chalk) the 400 is a different film ;)

Got my 2xroles back scanning them in some nice colors

None in the Solihull £land, back of M&S (half a dozen 200).

Chris - if you need some I could have a hunt in Edinburgh?

Strappy cleaned out the St James Centre branch at the Edinburgh Film meet but they might have restocked by now. Also the Nicholson St branch have stocked film in the past, I could try there.

Be fair, I bought it for everyone and we divvied it up in the pub afterwards. Admittedly, I got carried away with the thrill of the chase and ended up taking home 16 rolls of the stuff but that's not the point. :$

Sorry there should be a smiley at the end of my post! ;)

It was an excellent effort and should encourage £land to get more stock in!

Thanks Des, but I shall be up end of next week, and stay near the Nicholson St branch so I'll try there.

Chelmsford have restocked, I've still got about 30 rolls though so no rush for a year or so.

What's the unmet demand like now guys? I can look in my local Poundland tomorrow/Friday if anyone still wants it at £1/roll plus shipping from me to you at cost? Won't know what there is until I get there though...

UPDATE: I'm going shopping today Friday 20th June, I'll see what they've got and buy some. No-one's come back since I put this post up a few days ago so do I get the sense that you're all now sorted and don't need any?

UPDATE OF UPDATE: BURY ST EDMUNDS POUNDLAND RIGHT OUT OF ASA400, BACK ON STOCKS OF ASA200. END OF MESSAGE!

Let's hope they restock everywhere at some future date. Having just returned from a few days away using the 200 and the 400 versions, I can say that Vista 400 is a more vibrant emulsion and to my eyes, much the better film.

On a different note, I've never been a great fan of Asda's efforts in processing but the Aintree branch have done a pretty good job of 'dev only' for £2 a roll. They are not perfect but there were very few spots/fibres on the negatives, which is important for my non-ICE scanner. They are a lot better than my local Max Spielmann, who are supposed to be the specialists.

I think had their last 30 rolls!

Well I had three rolls done at Asda today and was amazed with 85 scans and no dust spots...best I've ever had.

The Croydon branch in the Whitgift Centre had around 40 rolls of 400 X24 this afternoon. I reduced their stash by 5 rolls. 95p a roll there as they are in competition with the other £ stores in Croydon.

Only Vista 200 at Watford, but snappy snaps will dev 120 in 1 hour for £3.50

Tried 2 Edinburgh stores over the weekend without success (Nicholson St had no film, Meadowbank only 200s). I think that makes 10 stores I've tried without success!

Tried in the Edinburgh St James Centre Poundland today - only 200ASA there at the moment.

Still got a mixture of 400-200 in the Bury, Lancs branch.

There were loads of 200 in the Luton store today. Picked up a couple of rolls to have a go with and test a camera.

Looks like more people using film for their hols as at Uxbridge (outer W London) they were out of film..anyway couldn't find the manager but found a helpful staff and asked him to tell the manager to get 400 ISO film....h'mm well I tried to explain by saying:- you know with a digital camera you see the ISO number e.g. 400 well for film it's the same ;) and I was annoyed with myself as I wrote the barcode down but couldn't find the bit of paper to give to him

Looks as though the Reading store have given up on film altogether, they didn't even have a single roll of 200 anywhere in the store yesterday. Ah well, I've got plenty of B&W and a small stock of Portra in the fridge already, buying more film wouldn't help me shoot any of that. :)

A colleague said there was approx 30 rolls of Vista 200 in the Bracknell Poundland yesterday.

So, I have never seen a roll of 400 despite going into more than a dozen stores across the country. I'm beginning to wonder if this was just a one-off batch they got hold of and sent out to some stores to sell. Does anyone know of a store with current stock?

I suggest we don't post about no-shows, only actual stock?

Chris, other than finding some in Bury St. Edmunds when the 400 first appeared, I too have been into more than 15 stores across East Anglia and the Midlands, I have seen no more. I am of the view the 400 batch was a one off or even a delivery mistake by their supplier. I had some communication with their head office and they informed me there was stock in many of he stores I visited, but they did not even though I had the right barcode numbers, their system didn't discriminate against the two different bar codes.

To cap it all I have picked up a rumour on a couple of other film groups that Poundland will not be continuing to stock Vista 200 when current store supplies run out. Not a loss for some, but I have grown fond of this cheap film!

Needless to say I will be stocking up on 200 in the next week or so in case the rumours are true.

I think your idea of a round up of where there is stock of 400 might also need to include 200 as well perhaps.

Harman direct (they do Ilford direct as well) have some vista 400. Think it's about the only place I've seen it reasonably priced.

I did notice that one of the Coventry stores was out of 200 the other week, but the other store seemed to have plenty. I don't use a huge amount of it, but it's very useful for the mju II which does DX coding so is carp for expired film.

£2.82! That's nearly 3 times Poundland!

I had a right game finding the 200,let alone 400. Tried all local stores for Medway kent area but none anywhere plus no idea when or IF it will be re stocked. finally found Tonbridge had some so bagged fifty this afternoon they still had about forty left. I think Poundland may knock this on the head soon, all the stores I spoke to seemed to think there was a supply problem??? which is why I grabbed fifty rolls.

Is it best to store your film stocks in the fridge? Its all new to me.

Steve.
