Challenge Alphabet Challenge 2026 Chat Thread

Use to indicate that this thread is for a community Challenge
I took some shots of Jets this morning for the theme then remembered I'd been shooting with a Toy Story group over the weekend and that Nolan's Jessie was a much better option for the theme :)
 
I'm away quite a bit during these 2 weeks, so I thought I'd get this one in early.
A shot of one of the wonderfully colourful participants in the monthly London Colour Walk held around Spittlefields.
 
The only list is the alphabet I draw a letter from a hat every 2 weeks then it's discarded so it can't appear again in year. Even I don't know what the next letter is until I draw it, that's part of the challenge, once the letter is posted (see what I did there) yo uthen have 2 weeks to take a shot that fits the letter. :D

I have been working on an H and finally got one "hound" as a friend brought her dog around this morning and I got quite a nice B&W shot of him. But, then realised we had changed letter! I guess it's the thought that counts. I'm in with S!
 
re the query in the image thread - Its not a flood, thats normal for lac Montbel, from spring into summer the level is run down naturally and by take off for farmers / fire fighting via the Canadairs. The trees grow on islands that exist when the water is low and survive the high level in summer. Then over winter into spring it fills up again

Grateful to you both for editing the image thread, I'd missed it and even indicated I liked Wayne's comment. Note to self, get a grip..... :ROFLMAO: Seriously though thanks for self regulating and for taking the time to contribute. (y)(y)

I've added this one into the Image Thread Denise so it can be seen with all the other images. It's no problem putting it here so I haven't deleted it (as it's your first post) but we try to keep the images in the Image Thread ( https://www.talkphotography.co.uk/threads/alphabet-challenge-2026-image-thread.772074/page-3 ) and only the images then any chat or "runner up" images go in this Chat Thread so as not to overload the viewing experience in the Image Thread.

Thread 'Nifty Fifty Image Thread for July on the Theme of "Time"'

Time for a new theme just drawn out of the hat folks, not to be started until after midnight tonight at the earliest....

Rules.
Images must be taken in the month of the theme and posted here before the end of the month.
Images taken at the Nifty Fifty focal length on full frame or the equivalent focal length on crop bodies, ie. Canon 1.6 crop body plus 35 prime or 30mm on zoom etc.
No lens modifiers, this is about the purity of the Nifty Fifty FL and being close to the human eye.
Tiny crop to straighten allowed, try to keep the image as close to what the lens would see.
Cropping to new...

I'll be posting the new letter tonight Denise it'll be a continuation of the Alphabet Image Thread ( https://www.talkphotography.co.uk/threads/alphabet-challenge-2026-image-thread.772074/ ).

I have all the letters in a Hat (well a bag really) and just draw one at random the night before the challenge letter changes then discard it so I don't put the same one up twice, all very tachnical as you see.

Cool can't wait to give it ago :) all this helps with my practice and gets me out there with the camera
