Being as we're coming to the end of Q1, I spent a little time reflecting on my journey with regards to this years 52 week challenge and thought I'd share my story so far, hopefully this may help and inspire others to join in.
We all have our own reasons for doing this, which is what makes it so good. For me my motivations and reasons were as follows
The only thing I am a little disappointed in myself for is that I haven't commented as much as I would have liked. Mainly because I stay away from the thread until I've posted my picture. That way I am not influenced by the work of others.
Anyway that's my journey so far. Feel free to comment or share your experience too, hopefully we will inspire others
We all have our own reasons for doing this, which is what makes it so good. For me my motivations and reasons were as follows
- To take more pictures
- To explore different areas of photography
- To try and take pictures that I personally like
- To make it to the end.
- My Lightroom certainly confirms that I am, I am also tending to venture out with my camera a lot more.
- Looking back through my photos I have noticed there are pictures in there that 12 months ago I wouldn't even have envisaged, let alone tried to photograph it. I am also spending more time "looking" for pictures. What I mean by this is that even when I'm out with my camera, I am thinking about composition, lighting, context, how would that fit a theme, so even when I haven't got a camera in hand I am "mentally" taking pictures.
- As a result of 2 I am now looking through my work thinking wow, I really like that, (I've even had a picture published). For the first time in years I am now looking at pictures online and in magazines and thinking mine are just as good if not better, which has boosted my confidence in trying new things.
- Well if I'm honest I didn't think I'd get this far.
