Translating the details states that the standard doesn't lock but that may just require a simple adlyustment to the locking lever. I know cos had to do it to my own DLC!

The Canham is not often seen for sale in the UK / Europe, more so being available in the USA where the camera alone rarely sells for less than for about 1800 dollars so that would make this set up with two lenses a steal for someone…..If I didn't already own the same, I'd be snapping it up.

I ight add that even if the fault was more than a diy fix, Canham offer a repair service.

I picked up this Dynax 7 while visiting Halifax it came with the 18-70mm AF DT lens which I believe was standard with the Konica-Minolta 5D/7D. When I loaded my film the data number given was dn1-0151 which I can only take to mean that there have been 150 films through this camera before me. Most seem to be 200 or 100 iso of the ones I can still see the data for, and mainly 24 exposures. If they were all 24 exposures that's 3600 frames.IMG_20191228_185221.jpg

Where in Halifax? Janet Greens? Used to live and work near there.

Yes, it was. My first visit to Halifax and it was nice to see a shop that still had film gear in the window. They're so few and far between these days. Though she did ask if I wanted a memory card for it [emoji23].

Looking through the data on this Dynax 7 it looks like it hasn't seen much use recently. My film that's in now is dn1-0151, dn1-0148 below was started on May 8th 2006 and finished on the 10th. It skips to dn1-0150 which travels in time to 2024 and by the end of the roll returns to 2005.

There are 7 areas to store film data, this is stored until it is overwritten by a new film. Still, it looks like it's safe for 13-14 years at least.

If DN1-0150 is date stamped 2024, then it looks like the info is not reliably stored...

At some point the year had been changed, my first five shots have 2025 as the year then I put the date and time right.

My wife had an Olympus Stylus (known in the UK as the mju 1) that had a date function that was 15 years and some out. Printed the date on the images as well, which was a right bother... ok for family snapshots (well, with the correct date), but a pain for the occasional decent shot. I remember spending ages cloning the date out in a few shots. Eventually I managed to turn it off (never did learn how to correct the date).

Does the Dynax 7 record the data between the frames like the Pentax MZ-S does?

I'm not sure, I was wondering about that because it has the option to stamp the date/time on the frame. It stamps the film serial at the beginning.

Reading the manual I see it has the custom function to leave the leader out. It also has the facility to forward (or reverse) to the frame of your choice for if you take the film out mid roll or want to do multiple exposures.

This arrived from China via an auction site before Christmas total cost of £4.30. Going to cut down a Kentmere 400 into 3 x 12 ish exp into reloadable cassettes and let the kids have a play. Might even try it on the beach come summer. Of course no idea of shutter speed or aperture. Edit: Box says f9.

Very strangely the price of these varies widely on eBay. The place I got this from is quoting £12 at present - other places £22!!! Previously they weren't more than six quid.

I guess the Topcon Wink E I picked up on Sunday fits this thread. It set me back the vast amount of £6.75, despite its good cosmetic condition, as the leaf shutter needs to be sorted - quite a big job, but if flood cleaning the blades works it should be within my limits.

Our favourite auction site item number: 193334767200

A possible bargain.

I purchased my Nova tank from this seller and can honestly say that the description and the help advice offered by him was excellent.

I paid £120 for mine but it is a 16 x 12 3 slot processor, nonetheless this is starting out at a very good price imo and who knows, he may be open to accepting a BIN offer.

I might add that other han having been a cstomer of this seller, I have no other connection concerning the sale of this or his other listings.

My mum's friend is giving me these. I'll give the mju ii zoom a try and I've always been fond of any form of Sure Shot so that'll get some use. As best as I can tell the Olympus izoom 75 is an APS so without wanting to seem ungrateful that will have to stay as a man shed ornament.

You're right about the iZoom 75, it is APS. You do occasionally come across APS film and you can still get it processed. Though you'd probably have to shoot it at box speed.

The cameras have been collected, the Sure Shot even came with a working 6v battery and seems to work fine. New CR123 battery ordered for mju ii zoom 80 - the battery I had is flat.

But which would you rather continued to exist - Amazon or Analogue Wonderland..?
I absolutely understand the point, but it's Fuji who are pushing up their prices and it's then a case of seeking out existing stock at better prices, and that's my reason for posting this. There's no way that I'll be buying Pro 400H at even £11.48 per roll, far less £18, but I know that some folks on here like the film. I've bought from Ffordes, DiscountFilms Direct and Analogue Wonderland in recent months, plus Ag, 7Dayshop, Jaz-UK, Unitol2 and other ebay sellers in the past year. I avoid Amazon other than software, but that puts me in a minority.

We visited Carmarthen Cameras last October, they recently moved into an old chapel, fantastic place, lovely staff and a nice selection of cameras old and new. Not bad prices either for a bricks and mortar shop.

Not sure if I've shared this one before

42_08jpg by Mark Gameson, on Flickr

This was my first camera (not this actual one this is a Ebay special!)

I remember I got it from a Camera Shop in Chester on the way the IWA meeting in Chesterfeild via the Manchester Ship Canal on a Narrowboat! my brother got a black one this was in 1988 I think!

I'm tempted to stick a film in it and see what comes out!

Finally got one ! On checking there are definitely two different apertures does this make it a Lomography camera rather than an original ?

I sold a few Polaroid type films last week, FP-100C and a couple of actual Polaroid 100 packs, So, I didn't feel too bad about buying a new tripod for large format. Not only didn't I feel too bad, I felt good, better than James Brown, in fact.

I just wanted to point out that https://www.photospecialist.co.uk have some good deals on Berlebach tripods at the moment. Mine is a Berlebach Statief Report 242 3/8" (€274,00 postage paid). It isn't the latest version, maybe why it was reduced. The difference is that the latest version, https://www.berlebach.de/en/?bereich=details&id=600, note the price, has a geared centre column and mine don't, not important. The tripod was shipped from the Netherlands, by the way.

But it does have a levelling head, so fitted with a Manfrotto quick release head, it can take any of my cameras. It is very light, at least compared to my Manfrotto all metal job, and a lot more portable.

Just a suggestion for taking a look at https://www.photospecialist.co.uk.

I dunno, some of those digi cameras on that there site are nearly as much as a second hand Mamiya 7! What is the world coming to??? (In reality of course, the surprise is the other way round...)

In that case you can have the single roll I've got in my fridge for £450 inc. UK postage. I know, I'm a fool to myself, but I like to be generous with my friends! :giggle:

Got a nice Slik 88 for a £1 at the bootie...

That was the tripod I craved in the early 1980s as a young, impoverished, teenaged photographer, to the extent I'd probably buy one today for nostalgia's sake! Part of that nostalgia is to do with me being mildly dyslexic... it wasn't until many years later that I realised they were called the Slik 88, and not the Silk 88! :asshat:

I also have the Slik 88 prototype but it's not as versatile as the later slik 88 also known as U212. If you can pick one up cheap it seems to do everything a photographer would want and one guy even fittted a Gandolfi head. There is a use for rocky cameras o_O as once he had the quick release post for £4.99

..Happy ending as I had a spare knurled camera screw (that fits to the camera) the right length and sorted some nylon bushes that I tapped a screw thread and have now got a quick release post that works (y)
