Yeah, it's all interpretation. Liking the low angle and the shallow DOF. Nice and bright! And a the tiny flythingamugig was a nice catch.

No real crit, I did wonder about the green tinge to the top of the egg not sure why

The tint is part of the packaging, I think it's to highlight the competition on there.

It'll do... tomorrow's a fresh start!:D
 
works for me especially with the addition of the bug and the low view point :thumbs:
 
I like that - good angle, great twist on kind and the aphid quite literally tops it off - great shot.

insect photo-bomb number 2... like it.

bug apart - the only crit I could have levelled here woudl had been the green tinge to the top of the egg - but as that was actually there, not a lot you could have done about it.

Good interpretation to crack a tricky theme. :thumbs:
 
Kind, all I want to know is what was the surprise in the egg :D the little critter adds that extra detail that makes the shot.

I've fallen a little behind on my crit this week too, my apologies! I should get chance to rectify this over the next couple of days.

I was pretty stuck for this one, it was a great stroke of luck that the bug came along. That made the shot for me.
 
Week 19 - Reshoot and Vertical.

Again restricted to lunchtime sorties, my reshoot is of Season, taken about 10 yards from my original dull Pigeon shot, what a difference a couple of months makes!

Vertical... well, it's... erm... vertical! I was conscious of submitting two 'looking up buildings' shots in quick succession, but it's a fool who passes up blue skies and white clouds when they happen!

Re-Shoot - LOVE that background, a really nice photo, excellent detail, sharp and bright :clap:

Vertical - An interesting building certainly reaching for the sky, it's a real good sky but I'd prefer to see more building, and clone the light out, as it deflects from the great reflection - well spotted :)
 
love the DoF on the re-shoot, some nice colour in there, as for vertical nice angle maybe take a bit from the top to emphasise the building, the building itself is a bit dark and the light needs cloning out.
 
re-shoot - great focus on the flower, love the colours and bokeh in the BG. Good choice to re-shoot. Pigeon was a bit meh..

Vertical, cracking spot and :thumbs: for making the most of the clouds and sky.... Composition could have been better, looks a bit like you were not quite central, and might also benefit from a bit of lightening in the shadows.

and the light could go for me too..
 
Hi, Reshoot is a cracker. Have to say, and no offence intended, I prefer the BG to the flower. Lovely colours.

Vertical, I rather like these....looking straight up. Nice blues in the sky. Pity you couldn't get better symmetry. Is the building not symmetrical IYSWIM ? Bit more detail in the shadows would help.

Reshoot - Season - well on theme and good comp, colours and b/g. As it scrolled up on my screen, and without reading the text i thought that it was the shot for Vertical and I thought how good it was!

Vertical - all comments have been made about symmetry, shadows, slight darkness and the internal light.

whoops...manged to miss Vertical....Building image for me ....cracking building with curves & lines , good reflections of the clouds :-) Might have been tempted to lone out the light though ?

Your reshoot for season is very pleasing on the eye. Full of colour and light, the background really gives the image depth without distracting from the main subject.

Vertical, on theme but perhaps a little more building to fill the frame?
Can't fault your decision though to include the sky, wish I had sky like that for my landmark shots for vertical. :thumbs:
 
It's rare they come, and a dull sky really spoils a shot for me. I half wish I'd submitted the other vertical now, as it's had more views on Flickr this week than any other shot of mine has ever. Not sure why, must be something in the tagging?

Loud and clear for losing the light... I did consider it, but just needed to get it submitted.

I would have liked to get more of the building in, but there's not much more of it, and what there is gets even more asymmetrical.

Reshoot's a no-brainer... it's all about the background. The Tulip (I assume that's what it is) is almost superfluous. The more I use it, the more I think that Sigma is the best £140 I've ever spent. All hail TP classifieds!:thumbs:
 
Nick, quite like the tumbledown cottage, but not really enamoured with your PP treatment, especially the darkness at the left hand side, which seems to me to muddle up the details.

Kind: that's a cracker!
 
Re-shoot: that's a really lovely picture. Sharp and beatifully textured on the tulip head, and the background well out of focus but contributing lots to the composition.

Vertical: also excellent, nice contrast between the straight, sharp lines of the building and the swirly organic cloud shapes.

Nothing to be ashamed of there, Nick, I really like that. Good colours and focus and I like the composition.
 
I like it nice texture in there not so sure of the positioning within the frame but it certainly works
 
Pattern, lots of detail in the log but I would have liked to see it centred on it's own.

Wasn't sure about the composition myself, messed about with a number of crops, but couldn't find one that really worked for me.

Week 21 - Movement.

This was going to be soooo easy... Movement drawn out on Saturday, World Superbikes at Donnington on the Sunday... Until a failed MOT put paid to that idea. I messed about locally with panning type shots, but nothing really grabbed me. In the end I decided to do it the other way round, focus on a static point, get the shutter speed as low as I dare and let a moving object do all the work. Results have been mixed, but it's Thursday night already and I'm determined not to risk falling behind.

It certainly says movement but as Andy says the crop is a little tight, I dont know if you could have got more distance being on a station platform though
