weekly SSU's TP52 for 2015

Hi Martin

Watery.....cracking shot, good low POV & super focus

Bold.....:ROFLMAO::clap:...nuff said (y)

Relax!....brilliant idea & really well exectuted......the stretch of the glove gives it a real " in the moment" feel

Hi, brilliant, as Andy said I think we have come up with something similar in idea, as Lynne said above the the stretch of the glove gives it that as I see it a quite disturbing view

very nice interpretation (y)

flippy neck another one that I've missed :(

relax - makes me cringe lol, I know all about 'those' examinations *shudder* good take on the theme and as Lynne said the composition is most excellent :)

watery - yep fits the theme and nicely cropped/composed

companions - love this one, makes me thing of Blade Runner for some reason. Is it me or is it a bit unstraight?

keep up the good work as my teacher (never) used to say :p

Nice touch of humour ... yep, it seems everythings just right: lights, BG, glove stretching.

Relaxing after a hard day at the orifice Martin? :D
A great take on the theme (y)

Another cracking submission on theme and the anticipatory snapping of the glove before performing a prostate exam..........

Great idea which brought a smile (albeit a rather nervous one:D) to my face. The positioning of the fingers is spot on and you've converted to mono very nicely.

Not particularly impressed with this weeks theme or indeed this weeks effort on my part and this is the only thing that was worth the effort of pursuing (and perhaps not even that). Still, as usual I've tried to make it a little different; only you can judge.

Very clever, nicely silhouetted. I wish I could come up with takes on themes this quickly...
I assume that the right hand side of your window is what we can see in the image. Nicely out of focus, but if it could have been omitted in the composition, I think it may have been better.
Obviously, I don't know what constraints you had when taking the shot - I know mine are often constrained by what's around and we all have to make the best of it.

Hi, the idea is good, the execution is not really doing it for me, would like to have seen a little more definition on the camera a little bit of light and the pop up flash put away where it belongs
maybe the camera in portrait mode rather than landscape, just to go with the theme a little more.

if the theme is not particularly inspiring then perhaps give yourself more time to think about it, it's something I am guilty of too

Yes. I thought about putting the camera in portrait but when I did that it just became a black block and no longer looked much like a camera in silhouette.

I have a better idea but I'm not sure i have the facilities to do it; I might try again later in the week.

Hmmm ... don't mind a bit of camera porn but ... not sure about this really. o_O :exit:

Maybe, with the same lighting and BG, the spirit level on its own may prove to be the epitome of vertical simplicity.

Hi Martin,

Good idea for this week's theme, but as Allan says, a bit more light on the camera may have improved the shot :)

Hi Martin,

Excellent! Made me laugh out loud. B&W suits the theme and ads atmosphere.
Still: *shudders!

Karl

Vertical, I like the idea, the composition and the silhouette. Few edges are a little OOF and I think it might look better in B&W.

Cheers.

A very good take on the theme, (y)
Like Andy I wonder what it would look like in contrasty Mono.
Just curious.

It was a curtain on the right. I thought I had the photo in the bag and packed everything up only to find the dark stripe down the right hand side when I put the picture on the PC -- ah well.

I thought the flash sticking up was a better idea but in hindsight perhaps you are right.

I have to do it quickly since when I get an idea I need to be the first to put it up; it's a personal thing.

True. Perhaps on a reshoot.

Hi Martin,

Good idea for this week's theme, but as Allan says, a bit more light on the camera may have improved the shot :)

Yes, I did try that using my flash but for some reason I couldn't get the light quite right so aborted the attempt.

Hi Martin

Vertical
We its on theme for me. have to agree with what others have said.
I would defo go for a mono conversion

I tried the mono version but there was not enough difference in tone in the original to be able to make a picture of impact so I stayed with the sepia (by coincidence the lighting turned out sepia).

Thanks all for comments and taking the time.

Bold - a nice fun take on the theme works well I like it.

Relax - not sure I'd feel relaxed at all if someone was brandishing latex gloves at me, but good composition nice lighting image works really well.

Vertical - I love your idea behind this theme not so sure the composition works, I do however like the silouhette of the image.

Vertical - not doing it for me, sorry. It's very tight against the top of the frame. I like the earlier suggestion of just the spirit level? It'll be my turn for a bleugh week soon I bet ;)

I quite like this Martin especially the spirit level side. (Not enough knowledge to crit on technical or composition) but I like it! :)

Hi Martin.

Well I like your vertical theme shot a lot!
The amount of light (or lack thereof), is perfect.

cropped a bit tight at the top and the Dof is showing an unfocussed leading edge of the camera body, otherwise a lovely shot, I really like the composition and colour and lighting

Hi Martin :)

Sorry... quick catch up from me as I am a tad behind...

Elegant - Now that is a nice original idea, I like the background you have chosen and the way you have laid out the cubes, the B&W works well too with the subject matter :)

Watery - Real nice focus on the doggy and glisten to the water, DoF just right too :)

Bold - Now that made me laugh, great expression and not badly lit either, well thought out :)

Relax - What can I say... real simple shot but works very well for the theme indeed, good background and a good crop choice (y)

Vertical - It's Nikon so I don't like it !!!

Payback time on that one :D

You recognized a Nikon from the silhouette!? You must be a secret Nikon fancier! ;)

Hi Martin, sorry for the lack of feedback in recent weeks, some great images. Bold made me laugh, really like your watery image.

Loving the quirkiness of the image. looks like you need to have words with the domestic like me:p

LOL Martin a bit of a shoe horn going on there, but clever none the less (y)

shoehorn .... but yes why not! Massive vignette might add atmosphere o_O

Shoe horn maybe, but I had a similar thought
Well done for getting away with it.
(Waste of a nice bit of cheese thought  )

Not wasted. I gave the lowest centimetre of cheese to the dog and ate the rest myself. The mouth, er, mouse, didn't get any -- but then he didn't get caught in the trap either.

I'll tell the wife! :)

Nowt wrong with a bit of shoe-horning, when the theme demands it...and this theme demanded it.

So do I. :)

Good point, might do it some time.

Hahaha, very clever.

Thank you; I try.

 , interesting take on the theme. The tail looks to have been cropped though. :)

Threee blind mice, tails and a carving knife and all that.

Very clever, one way of getting away from the dozens of mouth pics, nice fun pic. Well done.
