I was recently watching a re-run of his sailing round Britain series on one of the satellite channels, so the image of the boat was fresh in my mind.

If car drivers abandoned their old cars at the side of the road there would be an uproar, yet it seems quite acceptable for boat owners.

Maybe they do it for the benefit of us photographers.
