DPOTY26 - Chat thread

If anyone fancies posting their 'also-ran pictures for the Spring theme, I've popped up a thread here.

Well done @TimHughes and @cptnm for joint winners in April, in a good set of submissions. Here's the leader table:

I'm not on the bottom of it!!!!!

I thought I'd have a go at some challenges as I'm finding 'getting out there' challenging at the moment with juggling work and other things (which I'm not quote sure why they take up so much time!). I hope that I'm doing it by the rules; I have an entry from when I was on holiday in Shropshire a few weeks ago that fits the bill. It's a 1:1 ratio - hope that is ok.

All ok Philip. So long as an entry was taken and processed later than 1st December last year, it's fine.
The challenges are a good way to focus effort when inspiration is lacking, but I too find it diffficult to make time for actual photography, it's not uncommon.
The poll is now up

I've noticed that this year, admittedly having entered a little more than in the past, the quality of my images has improved a little, at least I believe that is the case thanks to getting some votes for them. This isn;t a self-congratulatory post though, even though I'm pleased with myself, but it is noteworthy because it demonstrates that making the effort to participate in the challenges on TP not only gets one to do more photography, but it also tends to develop one's ability to take half-decent photographs through making that effort and trying to do well. I've learnt that lesson this year in the DPOTY and to a lesser degree in FPOTY and the 52, as I'm entering those two less often, and it's really motivating me.
I just wanted to write this in case any other members are having doubts or unsure about joining in.
