Hi Jeff

well , a maze is def elaborate so bang on theme...were you in the centre to get this shot ?

Would be nice to see more of it as well to add to the Elaborate feeling ?

Nice work though

Hi Lynne,

Went to Hampton Court Gardens - yes in the centre up the gothic tower ;)
Will be adding some more photos to my flickr over the next week so take a peek - the above was cropped quite tight deliberately to remove outside distractions ;)

Hiya Jeff,

Aaaahhhh! So this is where you have been hiding ..... I thought we had lost you.

The 6 month rule for edit has been extended on the personal projects so I think most are keeping everything in one thread. If you wanted to do the same I am sure SarahLee would be able to assist you with merging your threads if you like.

Otherwise if you want to continue as is, that is fine too. I was just thinking that some folk may not realise you have started another thread for part 2.

So here is a quick catch-up:

Elaborate: I have always enjoyed mazes and indeed they are elaborate. I like the angle at which you have taken this shot. Well done!

Celebrate: Indeed party poppers are always fun to celebrate with. Lovely colours and nice DOF.

Smell: Wow this is very creative and a brilliant take too. The moody sky adds to the ambiance and the colours great. Not sure about the tree though

Weird: Now that is weird. I like the b&w, would be interested to see the colour version too though.

Well done

Cheers

Dawn :)

That is one weird pics :D liking it though.

Advert for guinness and rugby at a (local) pub?

Smell: HDR works but I seem to see a fringing of white around the subject... Unless that is vignetting afterwards (in which case I will be quiet) :)

Post celebrations is nicely laid out.

Elaborate for the maze... nice one!

Hiya Jeff,

Love the 'wind' photo, lovely colours, focus, dof and a great capture of the flag flying.

Great idea for evolution too, although I think the focus has suffered a little here, perhaps because there is so much in the photo my eyes are trying to find the focus to connect with the theme.

Overall well done though.

Cheers

Dawn :)

jeff... love the Wind shot...simple but effective and somehow my eyes connect the flag with the lighthouse in the background ...??

evolution.... my eyes are just struggling to see what its about.. sorry... are they sea shells..

Hi Jeff

sorry for taking so long to catch up with your thread

Brilliant idea for Record...have no idea how you did but but love it

Wind....siperb capture in both color & motion of the flag ,love how it stands out from the background (y)

Evolution...had me stumped initially but reading your words it does make sense

Weird...def fits the theme & really well processed , the B&W adds drame but would also love to see a color or SC version

Smell...great thinking & really well processed ( as usual), superb bit of work

Hiya Jeff,

I like your presentation of the 'record' theme .... very different and original.

Cheers

Dawn :)

elaborate maze is great

scary shot for smell, would work for weird that one too :0)

wind is a great pic, and a good tribute to the lifeboat men too

agree with others re evolution, seems no real focus to the pic, tho good in terms of theme

record - very clever, nicely done

Here is me thinking you've gone quiet on your 52, but no, it's me missing your part 2!

Great pictures in the 2nd part Jeff.

Great idea for Record.
The selective colour works well for work
Only neg is the blur shot, I'd rather the figure in the middle was in focus, assuming you've done a zoom during the exposure that is!

I've subscribed to your pt 2 now so hopefully I wont miss any more!

I bet you've been waiting for sun to take that picture.
It says time to me and I like the DOF.

It's a shame this side of the stone is in shade, I would have liked to have seen some detail there (which reminds me to go on ebay and get one of those 5 in 1 reflector things I keep meaning to get!).

I minor point, but the door, for me, should be central and aligned with the Gnomon.

Hiya Jeff,

Just popping past to do a quick catch up on your thread, time is short for me at the moment so will keep this brief.

Have to say I like the last 3 posts, the selective colouring on work is good, blur is great and great idea of the sundial for time.

Well done!

Cheers

Dawn :)

jeff...well done on a great set of theme photos... blur slightly lets it down... just by the weird dancing lights... but selective colour on work...who doesn't love the digger at work...record...freaked me.. like your gas mask...o-kay... LO-L ..

i'm with young neil about time...think about centring of the timepiece to the distant object ..and symmetry too... flower/shrub/tree boxes either side..??

Love the colour.
Out of the three on your flickr this is the better one.
Your model has done very well to keep the brolli on the same axis while spinning it, there is only a slight blur at the edges which I guess will be from the shape of the brolli edges, ie it isn't a round edge.

I think an over the shoulder position for the brolli would have been better.

Hiya Jeff,

Ooooh, I like the mix of colours there. What was used in the spin?

Cheers

Dawn :)

Hiya Jeff

Love your shot for Mix...great colors & effect

Time...love the sundial & great DOF...possibly OCD kicking in here but would have maybe been better if it was central to the doorway & too me it looks slightly, very slightly tilted to the right ? Bang on theme though (y)

Liking your Blur shot as well...sort of has a water painting feel to it...must give this zooming lark a try !
