Hi Michael,
Beautiful - Nicely captured., Beautiful Plumage A bit of a shame it's not facing in your direction, but nothing you can do about that.
Low - My favourite of the two. It has interest, tells a story and fun reflections.
Fine puffin portrait
Loving the lifeboat crew, no only that great reflection but also they look like figurines lined up like that.
two nice shots, as above great reflections on the lifeboat crew
I love puffins! Great photo, well composed!
Low is a great photo too, great colours and reflections of the men in high viz outfits!
Nice puffin, good choice for the theme.
The lifeboat and crew is excellent, well composed, great reflection.
Had a look at your photos mate and I must say I like them all, but
Juxtaposition - great contrast
Beautiful - it is indeed, amazing picture
Low - good reflections are not bad
Shadow - I like how crisp the image is
Keep it up.
Low is a great shot and the refelections make it for me....
Couldn't quite figure out what the hard shot was until I read your description, good find for the theme.
For Escort Mexico takes me back, nice matching pair.
I can imagine that one of those organs is hard to make a good composition of, you've caught that figure nicely and well spotted for the theme.
hard - great find and excellent photo, I like the processing very much
low - nice colours and obviously low PoV...
music - clever take on the theme, works very well
Nice catch up Michael, my pic for the theme is match very nicely taken shot of these old cars.
Hard time, poor teddy ...
Excellent car shot for Pair ... really nice pov with wide angle feel.
Music ... nice find, fun & colourful.
I just wonder if creature could be a bit punchier? but it is a lovely photo and the leaf stem leads the eye nicely to the ladybird
Too much nettle for me. Had a look at the Flickr original and zoomed in and I would prefer it that way but to each his or her own. I have had a dearth of ladybirds in my garden for the last few years so it's noce to see someone has them; the most I ever saw was when I had a Monkey Puzzle Tree and the ladybirds loved it.
Really like the edit
Hi Michael,
Hard - Quite a gritty image. What is a petrifying well?
You've lit the teddy well, he could so easily have blended into the black.
Match - are they Mexicos? Surely that's a flat fronted RS2000 on camera right, the wheel arches on the mk2 on the left look slightly extended to me, which perhaps says it's a lesser model that's been modded. Gotta love the old mk1 & 2 Escorts. We used to scrap them back in the day, worth a fortune now!
Quite tightly cropped, but I suspect that's to avoid other cars, there are certainly others about. The colour does help them stand out from the rest though.
Musical - Vibrant, with some motion going on too. It's an interesting thing.
Creature - Whilst I'm not commenting on bugs, I don't mind ladybugs and do like the colourful way she stands out from the green of the leaf. The edit does give it a bit more punch, but it was fine in the original too (imo).
Looking at the wheel arches on the RS2000, they are slightly wider than the rhs escort, so you're right, not an RS, so could easily be a Mexico (and you were there so should know )
It's many many years since we used to tool (I'm sure potter is the word really) around in my mates black RS2000.
Hi Martin, thanks for the comments, I would have liked to have got closer, but this patch of nettles was over a wall. But I did like the composition. I don't get anywhere near as many as I used to in my garden, a great shame. But the bees and butterflies have also reduced drastically in the last 3 years or so.
I just wonder if creature could be a bit punchier? but it is a lovely photo and the leaf stem leads the eye nicely to the ladybird
I agree, great compo but could do with a little more punch.
Hi Michael, a long time since I've been to your thread, sorry to say I have been very bad a commenting this year Just going to pick a few out that I particularly like! Really like the textures in Straight, Love the puffin, how can you not! Great reflections in the sand for the lifeboat, might have been good to see all of the boat but I guess that didn't work for some reason. The hard teddy looks great in B&W, I didn't get it till I read your description, I thought it was hanging on a washing line in the rain and lastly the edit on the ladybird is a big improvement
Match - I think the 3 Fords works really well better than the 2. Doesn't really matter that the models are different, the colours are close enough to give the impression they are the same.
Creature - The second shot is much better, with slightly more punchy colours. Really helps to show off the ladybird.
Nice rural setting but not sure if the train a little to dominant in the scene particularly the large expanse of platform
Yes, like the train, don't like the platform though, it may have been preferable to have the people you so patiently waited to leave actually in the shot to break it up a bit.
I like the image although I'm not sure it says 'rural' to me because the engine is so prominent Lovely greens in the background to contrast with the bold red of the loco, and I like the diagonal line of the track. The expanse of platform does detract a bit from the interesting stuff in the rest of the frame and I wonder if there was another angle here, but I'm guessing you were restricted by the location of your high viewpoint (bridge?)
