Week 9 - Winter sunset over flooded fields

Nice winter sunset but the foreground is quite dark on my tablet.

I like that as Clive said the foreground is a little dark even on a computer screen but I really like it

The dark foreground was intentional, but that may just suit my taste..

The sky makes for a lot of drama but I think 1/2 a stop more exposure and a tweak to the shadows would give a lift and more interesting reflection in the flooded field.

I can understand why you prefer a dark foreground - it has a very moody atmosphere. On my screen however it is a tad too dark to see any of the detail.

Week 10 - Depict a book: Canals Of Britain (!) - no I haven't read it...

I like it looks like Brum to me. Nice mono conversion and great use of the towpath to lead your eye towards the canal

Nice angle to take it at, looks good in mono.

No idea about the book but I like the shot. Nice low view angle and good use of lead in line to the main subject of the book title (canal). Mono conversion works well here.

Yes, you're absolutely right about the focus point, I actually shot it at f2 by mistake and did everything I could to sharpen up the buildings in the background!

I like the B&W treatment and I quite like the narrow depth of field too.

Is it Brum? Like Mark, I feel it could well be the view of the canal basin there.
I actually like the focus point being on the path rather the distant buildings or the canal itself. I wouldn't have guessed the book though.
