My printer decided to work properly
Having been switched off overnight I finally turned it back on at 6pm today.
Decided to try and print a 1 page document to see if it was over its sulk.
Lo and behold - up came the printer box - told me it was ready to print and there in the box were 2 files !!
The hidden one [ the one that it referred to when it said it was in use ] was a pdf and it printed that [ an A5 booklet ] and then the single sided document I had just asked it to do.
Normal Service has been resumed - though why on earth it couldn't tell me what document was in its memory and causing it to be in use yesterday, I'll never know.
I was at very cold venue today but WCMUT was seeing a Red Kite flying over multiple times with the last time was a pair greeting in flight and then flying over approx 6ft apart @ about 30ft overhead ~ simply stunning wildlife moments
PS.........as working no camera
Computer stuff is like that. It's just biding its time before the rise of the machines and is slowly building our frustration. We're always so thankful whenm it DOES work that we'll probably even forgive it when its cables wind themselves round our necks and choke us! (Glad the issue's resolved itself. )
I'd always much rather miss a shot than miss a sight. Even the best photograph can do little more than stir a memory.
Received an email today to tell me that I've sold my very first photo.
Congratulations
Are you able to give the backstory & details???
Watching a young cat (gorgeous Bengal) pronking in the snow. He's only about 2 years old and has never seen it before!
My daughter finally getting a place of her own, picked the keys up today, now the fun begins
A bit further down: "Recent new battery."This ebay description on a car:
*looks* The battery doesn't look that recent. In fact, what little I can see of it's casing is a little concerning. It's got a flat Battery! I spy a bargain!

Is the ECU under the battery by any chance?
This ebay description on a car:
"Car does not start or turn over. Damage was done by using the windscreen wipers when the windscreen was covered in snow and ice. Wipers struggled to move and from researching on the internet I believe it has damaged the ECU"

It seems stuck wipers buggering Civic ECU's is a known problem.
Specialist job to fix.
Wow!!! sounds like the use of modern 'communicating' wiring looms is not necessarily a good thing if a part/function as humble as the wipers can destroy a £1300 part Remind to never buy a Honda.
I'm driving round in the same car at the moment, hoping to replace with a Tupe R soon.
It's very common for cars to have 'unforeseen' electrical connectivity - The Vauxhall Nova mk2 for instance you could pull out the hazard warning switch from the dash, reinsert it upside down and activate it, turning on the ignition! If you put a single filament bulb in a dual filament bulb holder in your tail lights, on a lot of cars you can end up with some funky effects. On the same Nova that effect was that you had no brake lights, but using the brake pedal also switched on the ignition. So you could scare your friends by holding your foot on the brakes, turning off the ignition and removing the key all with the engine still running! Had a Fiat Brava with a strange electrical gremlin whereby the left indicator, brake lights and heated rear screen somehow got connected, so that when you indicated left with your foot on the brake pedal, the indicator and brake light would flash alternately and the heated screen switch in the cabin would also illuminate in time with the brake light!
The Civic one would be a new one on me though! There should be no reason the Engine ECU should be affected by the rest of the car's electrical systems, if it really is true then that is a terrible design flaw. I wouldn't be surprised though, Honda do make some hefty blunders. The hassle I used to have just to get brand new outboards to start, the fix usually being a small piece of silicone tubing wedged over a bracket on the throttle linkage!
WCMUT?
