weekly Purplepleasers 2016 52 Flora

Thats really out of the box and fits the theme well. I would have walked right past this and not linked it to the theme.

thanks for the commets, shame i was not central and in the zezo, was busy with shoppers. Yes Oscar its the mannequins behind the sign/glass by commercialism.

Nice pic and well spotted Lee, This is the sort of picture most people walk past without spotting. Keep them coming :snaphappy:

Sorry Lee, I don't get it (I'm obviously being a bit slow as the others seem to know what you're geting at) unless it's about being trapped behind a window...
Crit - The reflections are a bit off putting (though I doubt you could do anything about them) and I think I would have taken the clarity slider a bit to the right to give more contrast.
Onwards and Upwards :)

Thanks again for the comments. Tim i saw that they were trapped behind the glass/sign, that they were used to promote 70% off by being hidden by 70%. I am truly gutted that i rushed this shot even though it was busy. More contrast, might do a edit, but i think the reflections will really pop more.

Very clever, your Captive picture. It's got so many layers of the theme captured in it. Not only are the mannequins captive, the photographer is, too, with his reflection being captured in the sign. And then the viewer of the photograph is captive to the photograph trying to figure out all the layers of reflections, what's real, what's not, what's the story? Nice work!

Oh yes, how many are held captive by promises such as this. Excellent and novel response to the theme. Well done

Really appreciate the comments, hopefully i can continue for the next 50 weeks haha

Top marks for theme interpretation. You've found the right window display in term of its simplicity.

And I thought I was 'out of the box' :p

Very inventive and well spotted too and not something I would have thought of if I had seen it. The b& w really suits it too. How are you going to keep up the standard for the rest of the 52

A good start to your 52 challenge

Metal: Good take on the theme I think maybe you could of got in closers and possible move the bits of leaf and grass as although you have a nice DOF I still find them fighting for me attention.

Captive: Really good take on the theme and looks good in B&W

Hi, Jeff and Ruth, One of mannequins is smaller, maybe not miniature but i didn't want anything to obvious. Nothing wrong with lego etc or T+S images.

I got it Lee, just about! For me it's just a tad too subtle though with the mannequin mostly out of shot other than its shoulders. A more prominent position in the frame would solve that. Like the PP / lighting though. I find b&w much harder to get right than it should be!

Hi Lee. Lot going for the shot ... clear and clean, no reflections, lots of interest and looks nice in b&w. I like to try a different take so bravo for that,

Congratulations, it's not obvious at all so mission bloody accomplished! :wideyed:

:) ;) :D  :ROFLMAO:

(you will get used to my humour, perhaps :wacky:)

A nice enough shot, I like the feel of it and B&W suits it well.

Cheers for looking and commenting, regarding this image, It was a grab shot whilst out shopping, noting to do with the theme at the time, sometimes something can be made from nothing. Far from idea but i doubt i would have the skill to create a staged shot.

I am so glad I started this 52 challenge.

Now you've explained it I see what you mean maybe a crop to the manikins would have been clearer
