Maybe a little off the left hand side, Andy, to the door pillar, but I'd certainly leave in the "old" post box.
Nice start Bill (y)

Thanks

The horizontals and vertical were compromised as I did not get them correct in camera ... the original 16 x 9 helped disguise this

Loving the VR postbox, it certainly is old. Not quite so sure on the composition, but you have to work with what you have.
You should be able to warp the original shot to straighten the doorway and slight perspective distortion of the horizontals. I would have also cloned out the yellow paint on the pavement.
Great bright colours, the pink nicely sets off the blues

Thanks - will give it a go - I think that the yellow paint was a post it note that the lady had dropped

Hi Bill. Welcome - hope you enjoy TP52. I quite liked the original too. The postbox was a primary feature for me in relation to the theme so had to be kept at all costs. Good composition and nicely exposed.

I like the original but couldn't say why. Love the shadows from the window on the curtain behind.

A lovely image to start with Bill, I can only echo Tim's comments and also say I really like the edited crop, getting the lady to the LH rather than central really adds to the balance for me... really nice entry for the practice week, looking forward to the rest of your 52 (y)

Hi Bill

all so delightfully olde .... and the crop to zoom was a good idea. I love a bit of "street". :)

Hope you didn't hang around too long, Bill! A very vibrant image as said. I know many aren't fans, but a possible candidate for selective colouring?

Taken with "your new camera" Ian with the Nikon 70 300mm f4.5/f5.6 VR

in the mountains behind George - S Africa - lots of guns around - I saw it as Stop don't turn "right" and a sign that was shot at

I never saw the point of shooting something you weren't going to eat :D

Nice interpretation Bill metal on ( or is that through?) metal

Interesting photo, liking the composition and the bullet holes. Good luck completing your 52

This one certainly prompts the imagination as to what else is near this take.
Good shot, if it was mine, I'd go hi contrast monochrome with a subtle vignette.

Great find Bill and a nice shot as well. Everything spot on - love the vibrancy and focus. May be worth a b&w conversion as Paul @Pads1980 suggests - I always think it gives an image an extra dramatic feel and this one with the bullet holes would fit in nicely with that.

Nice image, nicely placed in the frame, I've only ever seen bullet holes in road-signs like that in the Australian outback.

Thanks Guys

This may help to identify the country

Afrikaans country ..... some seem to specialise in shooting up signs

Liking your shot for old a lot, and both "metal" bullet riddled signs make me chuckle :D

Lovely contrast and striking colour. I agree with the others, the bullet holes really add to the shot

Another good one for the captive theme. Nicely focused.

For Metal you don’t see this image in the holiday brochure welcome to S Africa it makes you wonder if anyone has stopped only to be shot at, and who is the lunatic that got out car? Lol nicely take

As for Captive a well positioned shot, great shot for the theme

Bill, really like you captive image, the colours are really nice and the razor fence is perfectly done too. I love the spiders web, a double meaning of captive.
