Fantastic image Emma great composition and use of DoF.
Thanks Bernd - I did think about cropping closer but liked the thistle leave and didn't want to crop too close to the top of the wings, so left it as it was.Beautiful shot, nice DoF with good detail and sharpness on the thistle and the butterfly, but I think I would have preferred a closer crop.
Thanks MarkFantastic image Emma great composition and use of DoF.
Thanks so much Nigel - that's very kindHi Emma, Love your butterfly , stunning puts mine to shame :-( really nice and crisp, well done and great Compo too.
Thanks Andy - I did think about it but wanted to leave the leaves in - I guess I could have gone for a non-standard ratio.Lovely butterfly and nice separation, I might have cropped in a little.
Cheers.
Thanks Chris...not sure I'd make a brain surgeonNice shot Emma and great DOF. Must have a steady hand !
Thank you RuthEm, that is a beauty of a shot. Just lovely.

I think the original shot included the top of the umbrella, but the figures seemed a little small in the frame - I agree that it's not quite right though...maybe down to the couple of glasses of Bulgarian red I was drinking at the timeLooks lovely there, and the waves are huge. Not sure about the composition, I like the beach umbrella on the right, but I probably would have liked to see more sky.
It's been a great week or so. None of us had been to Bulgaria before but it's absolutely lovely - great place for a road trip. I think you're right about losing the sky.Looks like a lovely way to while away the day.
As for composition, I'd actually be tempted to lose the little bit of sky altogether.
