Cheers IanLiking that a lot DK. Lots of horizontals too. To me, the RHS needs cropping a smidgen though
Thanks a lot CarlOh yeah, I like that a lot DK. A multi-compliance shot for the theme - wall, bench and figure. Nice candid, extremely well-spotted
Thank you Debbie - that's what I thought when I saw it, so glad it was empty too, considering there were Hundreds of people out there todayLoving this. Great fun. Like the length of the bench.
Cheers Ian
I did have it cropped to the right at first, BUT it is the shadow I did not want clipped so widened it again
I see what you mean. Perhaps even wider then?
Hahaaaa thanks DavidReally like that Dean love the lady lying on top of the wall. Plenty of horizontal lines with the wall and bench that brickwork is a bit wonky though[emoji12]
Cheers ChrisReally meets the brief, well seen and captured
Thanks to the next ChrisWorks well Dean, lots of "horizontals" and the person adds a little something as well as all the textures in the image.
Simple and effective.
Thanks MattHorizontal - Lovely shot, bang on theme - nice model too!
Thanks AgainI agree with the comment suggesting a slight crop to the right hand side - I think it would help balance things up a little. The elongated crop works well too! I think this is probably something I should look into...but the OCD in me always keeps my shots to the original ratio!
Thanks a lot RichardSpot on! The placing of the figure on the wall rather than on the bench makes this shot! Really like the balance that the crop gives the image. All together a great shot and well on theme!
Cool - thank you SusieI'm with Emma on this one DK ...a real smasher of a shot ....composition is absolutely spot on.
Hi StanLike it, my first thought when I saw the image was 'did he lengthened the bench in PS?'.
Nooooo I Can't clip the shadowWell caught with the person included it definitely adds interest to the image. My two pence worth; I would cropped out the right a bit more to make the bench more exact symmetry.
Cool - Thanks SheylaraEffort - I love that to bits! So funny, so creative, so well executed!
It is yes, got to be different when we can don't we - thanks againTechnology - So this is more of an anti-technology shot? Works for me.
Oooo thanks againHorizontal - One of my favourite horizontal shots! I really like how the woman looks with her hair all over the wall and her relaxed pose, and how she’s parallel to the really long bench. (Is it even real? I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a long bench!) Lovely, lovely image. Lots of nice horizontal lines in there!
YAY !!! I knew somebody would see it... cheers buddy !!!Well spotted, Dean, first thing I saw was the gap on the LHS and RHS with the edges of the bench. Glad you didn't even them out as you'd have lost the end of the shadow.
Cheers.
Thanks DavidLucky find, or is that a prop/model you take with you. Top Horizontal shot DK ... it's got it all.
Thank you LizEffort: Great fun shot well composed.
Cool, thank youTechnology: The colours and the simplicity of the shot makes this a favourite for me.
And thank you again, and for the catch upHorizontal - Super original shot which certainly fits the theme.
Ooo thank you AndreaReally like this! All those horizontals of the bench and the wall, and that great shadow under the bench, but it's the perfectly placed horizontal human that really lifts it to the top of the tree and then your wide crop is the finishing touch. Very, very good; like it lots
Cheers PaulThat's a corker for Horizontal, Dean. I don't click through on many photos to flickr but I did on yours. I love the composition and overall feel of that image. Where on earth is that HUGE long bench?! Brilliant secondary subject though
Thank you... and yes I did set it upI really like the way you've used the quite hard sunlight - the shadow on the bench works well and the lady being face-in to the sun means she doesn't get any ugly shadows cast. Very smartly done - even if you didn't set up the shot.
Thanks again Paul, and yes that does need doing a tad more I agreeTiny suggestion would be to tone down the highlights on her skin a touch but that's a really minor quibble for what is an excellent photo
wow... what can I say, but thank you :blush:There is so much that's perfect for me about that shot - the little things like her hair colour changing at the line of the wall, the texture of that background, the stone wall with that great pattern and depth (helped with the hard lighting)... it's magnificent.
Cheers PhilLove this shot DK
Phil
Hahaahaaa thanks FrankWell now DK..... I.. have looked at ur horizontal.... and there is some definite curves in..some of them lines... ....... really the only thing I focused on....... what?? There's the bench? Sure... fool me once.........oh..wait..... :/
Wow !! thank you very much AllanHi DK, excellent take for the theme the best one I have seen so far, nothing to crit there
Thanks TimExcellent shot there Mr DK.
Thanks MinxHorizontal - Great shot works really well
You ain't kidding mate, was well worth the visitEvening, Dean, looks like a wonderful place.
Thanks Andy - I was getting level blind after a while I kept adjusting manually and when I got that right the horizontals were out, so compromised#1 Vast for me. The central columns is leaning slightly, but well composed and executed.
Haaaa very true mate, ideally it would have been a few shots bracketed, but there were DOZENS of children running about and I was flat on the floor in the entrance as it was, waiting to get trod on or 'escorted' out of the buildingRough, great detail on the staircase; looks quite hot at the top but as it was a romantic holiday and not a togging one you're forgiven
Cheers.
The scale of it is unreal, and when I started thinking into the history in more depth, boy !!!Hi Dean. Vatican looks an amazing place.
Thanks Carl, I too like that one a lot, again the scale for the time it was built is awesome !!!Hard to choose from those, particularly the first three but if pushed I think probably the Colosseum for the detailing and downward POV which makes the people look ant-like in scale.
I'd love to take credit but the stitching was all down to LR, and agree with the stairs, stunning design - here is a shot looking down - UNEDITED I must add before I get crit for itWhat a terrific job at stitching those 12 images for the Square and as for that ceiling WOW! Rough is beautiful too - amazing craftwork.
Thank you MinxVast - four very different pictures all fit the theme. I like the 1st best, and in the last (but not least) the little balloon emphasizes the vastness
Thanks againrough - Beautiful shot, great detail in the carving
Cheers ChrisI agree #1 vast for me, really gives it sense of scale.
Thanks again... it was the best I could squeeze out of the few things I tried, and with time short it does the job for the time being, may add to a 'Re-Shoot' weekRough - interesting choice for the theme, I like the architectural nature of it
Thank you MarkGreat images for Vast love all of them and would be hard pressed to pick a favourite
CheersRough lovely image some lovely details
Thank you Chris, the hardest work was the adjustments to rotate/horizontal and verticals to try and remove as much of the converging lines as possible, was quote fun reallyCracking set Dean, its tough to pick one, but I'm going for the 1st, nicely stitched, and processed
